i'm too tired to look.....or too stupid....just tell us where he is...
based on the information i have available, i'd surmise that he's at home playing madden with a create-a-player version of himself, perhaps :)

Augsburg ventured north to Manitoba!! This is what the USA South needs to do if they have not. Squeeze in some snaps for Narch and boys...

This really should be allowed more often. Find out what your depth chart will look like before August....

Here's the spring review from Murvul

Got an invite to Media Day (Aug. 3) at MC this week. Looks like they're going to try and raise the bar a little bit to encourage folks to make the drive.

In the past I've kept most of my questions off the webcast for the one-on-one sessions but I'm wondering for those who have watched or watched the download later, would it be better if the media asked more? I'm open to taking questions from the message board and being the guy who asks them that day. (Subject to personal discression of course  ;) )

Hitting my favorite topic, what's the view of how long/if the D1 super conference moves will trickle down to D3? It appears that by Aug being in the Pac 10/16 could mean not so much you're on the Pacific as that you're west of the Mississippi River. Obviosuly its a TV dollar move, but could looking at getting the most out of an athletic budget mean some folks take the chance to look again at D3 super conference?

D1 super conferences are going to happen - will diffenately impact local DI football.  In the ACC, schools like VA Tech, FSU, Miami, Clemson, GA Tech, any or all could move on as the ripple effect occurs.  The ACC will revert back to a basketball conference (not that it really has been considered a football one to begin with).

Wouldn't be surprised as the realiegnment occurs that these power football schools tumb their nose at the NCAA and break off forming their own governing body (NCAA now doesn't control the BCS).  It's happened before when the AAU was once the dominate ruling body for athletics.  Now its reduced to running summer basketball and baseball tournaments.

As for DIII creating super conferences, that might be more of a stretch.  Revenue's not there (most team play in front of 1 - 3M fans @ $5 a ticket and there's no TV $) and the overhead for teams to travel greater distances, less the flights (because they'd probably go by bus), is not much different - DIII kids still have to eat and sleep so the cost of hotels, meals, etc for 60 players or so that travel is not that much different.

The one thing that might happen down the road, if the NCAA becomes weaken and/or even disappears - you might see a dissolving of the various classifications.  For instance, in Ohio, there are a number of DII schools, Ashland, Findley, etc., would a school like Mt. Union blend in with them?  If NCAA no longer had authority, could a large contributor, i.e., like a T-Boone Pickens at OSU donate substanial funds and a D-III moves up to the big boys (student body size doesn't matter, if a school was only 100 kids and they all are talented football players, that's all you need).

But the above would take a long time, probably not in our life-times.

Good article on the Fighting Scots by Batteredbard.  I hope Coach I has found some answers on the offensvie line which we struggle throughout the '09 season.  Hopefully some of the young guys that played during the last 3-4 games on the OL will use that experience to produce a stronger unit this fall.  Losing Hightower on paper looks like a big loss, but I really don't think he was a big factor throughout the season.  He just wasn't as productive as a senior.  He had a hard time making defenders miss in the open field.  It always seemed we got a lift offensively when Tate was in the backfield running the ball.

Finally, I'm very excited about have Media Day at MC in August (even though it's a year late).  My biggest complaint about Media Day is the audio system over the internet during the past 2 years.  We could barely hear the coaches two years ago and last year there was no sound.  I'm sure many USA-South fans were disappointed.  As much as MC wanted to host Media Day, I'm sure they are going to make it a first-class event.

Personally, I would like to see the media do their homework about the 8 teams and ask some serious questions so the fans can listen to the answers by the coaches.

Dang. It was a simple and honest question. I had forgotten about UFL until I read something on line and was wondering if Tunde was headed that way. Didn't mean to stir up stuff. Just wondering where he's gonna play ball.
