given the way most of the games have gone for the conference this season, talking about them just isn't something i personally want to do :)

i did mention a few posts back something about the monarchs getting taken behind the wood shed by the wasps - at least the monarchs can say they've lost to quality teams...the two teams that have hammered them are unbeaten and look like they might be legit playoff contenders...and of course, the monarchs have 1/6 of the usasac's win total this season :)

congrats to su for potentially getting into the odac...and let the beatings begin in all sports except baseball...if they don't have to play the tough usasac competition on the diamond, do you think they'll start to schedule some challenging non-conference games?

I just caught the TV3 Winchester broadcast over the net and their sports guy stated that SU's AD is quoted ...

"It's the biggest thing to ever to happen to SU"

Sounds like SU is moving into the ODAC, wonder if Guilford will be coming into the USA-South?

I don't know why Guilford would want to leave the ODAC.

People keep bringing this up because they think geography makes us a better fit for the USASAC.  There are many reasons (and many sports besides football) that are considered for conference affiliation.  Trust me (and Pat), Guilford wants to remain in the ODAC!

So now there will no doubt be a courting process and it wont have to include football but would be a plus if a new member school did have that.

While I think MC might be asked if they'd care to come fully on board, Im not sure there's much incentive to add the miles for all sports on both sides.

I agree Guilford has no incentive either.

1) So the question is who are the candidates?
and
2) How long does the conference have to find someone before the desire for the guaranteed AQs sends someone else (CNU would be my bet) looking for a new home?

and then there's this weekend, Maryville has looked a bit better this week with most everyone back on the field. Offense was certainly much crisper than it was before bye week. Not sure if that's the freshmen having a week to just work on learning the playbook or getting some key people back at 100 percent or combination there of, but we'll see how they do game speed at Methodist.

I wonder if Southern Virginia University would switch from the NAIA to the USA South?

It's certainly not an easy thing to rise into compliance with NCAA standards, but if SoVa had any inkling, this would be the time to take action.

If the spirits on both sides of the divide were so willing, this the best idea I've heard so far. :)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

UVa-Wise might be a candidate as well.

True.  By the way, Ralph, I see McMurry visits Guilford for a men's basketball game this season.

Should be good.

Our new head coach will continue in the proud tradition of Coaches Kimbrell and Holmes.

GC-Q----leave the ODAC? Pat asks the question that cannot be answered except a beat down is a beat down either way. Administered by ODAC or USASAC does not matter. getting smited either way
