really disappointing end to coach sypult's monarch stadium career today...the monarchs really ran the ball well, but couldn't stop the pride when it mattered...

Its a shame he lost his last home game, but wouldn't it be nice for them to send him out a winner next week? I just hope Ferrum can do the same for Coach Davis!

Been off the boards for several weeks. Wife been in hospital with heart issues. Trying to get back to normal (what ever that is).

To all the Averett faithfull, what has happened?  I have been out of touch since the CNU game.

Kickerdad - Last year Averett won a lot of close games, i.e., Maryville in the last minute, Ferrum in 3OT's, Shenandoah by 2 (when they missed a 2 point conversion).  Also they were way ahead in the turnover battle. 

This year, while they played hard, they had several injuries and some of the breaks didn't go their way.  I'm sure they will give a good effort next week in an effort to be 6 - 4.  While I'm sure they're disappointed how the season has turned out, they did beat what appears to be 2 conference champions, Washington & Lee and CNU (pending).  Overtime, they may look back at that with some satisfaction of accomplishment.

The way, CNU looked saturday was amazing. It was 35 nothing at the half. Then CNU put the brakes on. Keep this momentum rolling on into Methodist. Nothing is written in stone so we need to keep our focus.

One win and we're in. It's that simple.

CNU is up 35-3!!!! 2nd Quarter. Wow, this team has come together.

CNU wins. Final score CNU 49 Methodist 10. 7th conference championship in 10 years. Nice work boys but the party has just started. Looks like we might get Wesley again. It would be a nice match up to see exactly how far this team has come.

Congratulations to CNU on the auto bid for playoffs. Good luck and go as far as you can. Congrats to the Bishops on another Conference Championship (Co). A dreaded 5 turnovers will kill you, but it happens in the game of football1

Thanks Bishop. "whoda thunk" after week 5 or 6 when CNU was 1-4 and 1-1 in conference with a road game next against NCW, the pre-season favorites, that the season would end this way? Not me, for sure. All I can say is  - wow. LEt's see what happens next week.

KIR - at least there will be about 50+ guys on a team bus next Sat. What team bus is your nephew gonna be on next weekend? Oh...yeah...thought so.....Keep hating, we don't give a rats a#$! Paha!!!

I thought it was a very nice touch at the CNU game in the 4th qt when the PA announcer recognized the Methodist coach and wished him well on his retirement.

CNU 85 and the rest of the CNU folks, a couple of wins in the playoffs  would make the USASouth look better!!!
