Wow. What a game. One more half to go!!

Captain Bob

CNU up 27-10 at the break.  It's a thriller :)

good win for the capts....gotta be honest, i thought ferrum would win this one - congrats

it's a good day to be a monarch :)

frosh max reber had an outstanding day today...14-23 for 156 and 2 rushing td's to go along with a great day punting the ball...40 yard average and 4 of 7 inside the 20 - if he continues to develop, he could be a good one down the road

wesleydad

cnu85, congrats to you guys.  maybe a trip to dover will be in the near future for the captains.

CNU85

Wesleydad-  thanks. Maybe a trip to Dover will be in cards. Personally, I would love a rematch with Salisbury. That one hurts still.

SafetyGuy

Nice win for CNU today. Unfortunately no mention on the Virginian Pilot's website Pilotonline.

Well, once again, I have to acknowledge that Ferrum was just out played. The Offense for CNU was efficent, strong, amazing, and Ferrum could not find an answer. In the end, I think much if not all of the offensive success came down to the size difference on the line of scrimmage. CNU is far bigger than Ferrum, at least it appeared that way.
Ferrum put up 30, and that is good, but they still are on the outside of the playoffs looking in.
On a positive note, I really think Coach Harper has this team headed in the right direction. They were in contention in his first year, and I believe he will be engaged in the off season to ensure another strong recruiting class.

Congrats to CNU- They deserved to win, and I have to agree...the quarterback was awesome.
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

The story of the Bishops season, fumbles, mistakes, interceptions. Congrats to the Monarch. You took advantage of turnovers and held my boys when you needed to. You deserved the win! Congrats to Narch and all you guys.
The only easy day was yesterday

Well under normal circumstances I would have picked Ferrum although I did not not on the pick ems on the ODAC board. And I expected a murderous hitting game (as Ferrum is famous for ) but I am a little surprised to see them not win.

Good job CNU (as I taste vomit in my mouth saying it)  ;)

Congrats to CNU. Finish out this week without any injuries and gear up for the playoffs! I just looked back on the completed portion of the schedule and it's pretty solid. Only two losses, one of which was a 3 point OT loss and the other a 4 point loss to the #10 team in the nation. I wouldn't be suprised to make some noise in the playoffs. The defense is pretty solid and the offense seems to be picking up steam. This 3rd string QB was highly recruited by D1 schools before injury changed the schools' minds. We are fortunate to have such a deep roster. The exciting thing for me is that many of our standouts are freshmen and sophmores.

I know there will be some scary names in the South bracket but I like our chances against anyone of the whole damn pack.

Congrats to CNU as well. I totally misread that one, but then again, this is the first complete game I think the Captains have put up this season.

Here's The Daily Times coverage of MC win over Greensboro — and congrats to Burston on making D3 team of the week.

Some pretty darn good photos of Idlette and Burston in action as well as the rest of the game.

I was thinking that CNU had a shot to get a home playoff game based on our regional record. I was thinking we were undefeated IN REGION. However, they are showing us as 7-1 in region? Stevenson and Salisbury are both eastern division teams though???? What's the story on this? Maybe we could hear from Pat on how this is determined.

On the page with the rankings is a link to the FAQ that explains, among other things, what is considered a regional game.

I just checked and saw the 200 mile rule. That being said, our record (in region) stands at 7-1 with the one loss to Salisbury who is ranked #2 in the east. That Stevenson loss is really rearing it's ugly head. Stevenson is sitting at 2-7 overall.

CNU needs a statement game(and a little help from other teams) in this final week to have a chance for a home game. Here's hoping.
