dg, good to see you still keeping it fun, like it should be.  I am looking forward to seeing your team today.  They keep improving and it should be a good test for Wesley.  I will let you know what I think when I get back from the game.

Funny you say that..I grew up not too far from HSC and my grandfather said Mer-lin. But, he also had an all-around funny way to say things anyway.

I'll admit the whole Murvul/Maryville thing is a little petty, but when in Rome....

In all honesty, my fiance' makes fun of me when I say Merlin (Maryland) all the time.
Reminds me of an old joke:

If a male is walking through the woods, and no female is around to hear him, and he says something, is he still wrong?

How long has the guy been married?
Haha, but does that even matter :) ;)

Hawks88

Huntingdon trails Wesley 10-7 at the half. Hawks turnover in the redzone at end of half, would have been good to get points there. Too many penalties and no ground game for the Hawks. Need to cut the penalties and find a way to move the ball better in the 2nd half.

Go Hawks!

Hawks88

Final, 38-28 Wesley. Hawks had the lead going into the 4th but couldn't hold on. They're the 10th ranked team for a reason. They made plays when it counted and we had another red zone turnover. One of these days we will be able to finish those guys off.
Back to conference play. Take care of business and take them one at a time.

Go Hawks!

CNU85

CNU down 24-21. about a minute left. ugh!

Monarchs have a really good team!

CNU85

CNU is acting weird today....like they haven't practiced in weeks......just seem off.

starting qb gets hurt. a backup comes in who earlier in the year and throws 2-2 123 yds and 2 tds. this game he plays forever before passing then throws a int.

so now....what was that play near the end of the game.......4th and 42......CNU coaches I mean really??????

Congrats MU...2 in a row over CNU and wanted it more. CNU gave up on last series....coaches to players.....sigh.

Maryville played a very sloppy game against Averett today for the most part. A lot of things to correct, but I'm happy with a home shut out. 48-0.

And, uh oh yeah...THATTA BABY METHODIST!

two words: max reber

more words:
the guys on the odac board think i have no idea what an sec qb looks like (there isn't an sec qb who would have thrown 5 int's vs. the cnu defense i saw today), but i'll tell you this...i wouldn't trade max reber for any of them :) (ok, maybe mccarron, but only if he brings his girlfriend)

he actually had a bit of an off day today, missing open receivers on a few plays and locking in vaughn cross a bit too much, but when the game needed to be won, max made a play that most college qb's simply don't make...4th and 11, down 21-17 on the mu 28 with just under 3:00 to play...max is flushed out of the pocket - he probably could have run for the first down - and finds anthony radke about 40 yards down field and throws a perfect pass on the run...radke finishes it with about 25 yards of yac down to the cnu 2 yard line - ball game

max finished 26-41 for 352 with 2 td's and an int to go with a rushing td

cnu played an undisciplined game today...they gave mu some big first downs on penalties and that cost them, but i honestly thought the qb being injured played little in the outcome...morrast wasn't exactly on target, although his long ball is solid (having #5 and #88 running under that long ball helps) - cnu actually ran the ball better with #1 at qb, because they fed dukes the ball (that little dude is a player...doesn't run like he's 5'6")

Scots13

I wouldn't care if MU's coaching staff sold their souls. ;D The loss puts MC in somewhat of a "control your own destiny" situation. Still have to play at CNU and Huntingdon in the second half of the season.

At the game today, tons of offensive penalties, early dropped balls, yada yada. But still, a good day. 411 yds on the ground, 136 in the air and AU was limited to only 80-something yds.

And, oh h*ll yes. Max Reber is Legit. (Notice the capital L)

cuz he is 5'5" at best.....as coach said..."in heels"

Congratulations to Methodist ... super win for the Monarchs.  I saw Max Reber play on September 14 ... he's a fine QB.

the only true candidate for usasac play of the week begins at around the :45 second mark - vote early and often folks :)

seeing the end-zone view, i realize that max did not have the option to run for a first down...from my vantage on the home side of the stadium, i thought he could have easily run for the first down, but the end-zone angle shows that the de may have caught him and the lb/db sitting in the zone probably would have stopped him short...makes the play even more impressive, 'cause that throw was the only option he had
