USASC used to have a coin flip written into the rules. Not sure if that is still true (circa 2007 I believe). Also not sure how it would work in a 3 way tie. And yes, it would be nice if they put this stuff on the conference website, even if it is rarely needed. I know the ODAC's, as of a couple years ago when RMC got killed by Mount, gave the AQ to the team who had been longest out of the playoffs. Not sure if that is still the way it is done either.
Still a lot of football to be played, but that rule would favor Guilford if it came into play.  The Quakers have never been to the NCAA football playoffs.

I looked all over the conference website and couldn't find anything about tie breakers.
but there wouldn't be a tie to be broken in the scenario given earlier...7-1 is not the same as 6-1

85,
I wish the CNU students weren't on fall break last night, or otherwise the atmosphere would have been an A+ instead of an A.  Great game by both teams, really.  When MC was up 24-10 at half, I knew the Capt's would come out of the locker room ready to get back in the game, which they immediately did.  Dukes is one hell of a back.
One thing that I want to say publicly is how proud I am of Wes Bloeme and his kicking last night. We've had a shoddy special teams year again, but he was money last night. Good job.

I agree about the kicker and the students. If it wasn't fall break, you could have added 2,000 to to the attendance. The weather kept people away a little, too. Thanks for the kind words. I wish I had paid attention and realized you would be there. We could have had a beer.

When Bloeme kicked the first PAT, it was so ugly I thought "ok, cool. They don't have a kicking game". I was wrong. He was money. You guys are in the driver's seat right now.....make it happen!

After each TD I was updating a buddy by text, so I didn't see the PATs. Really didn't want to see them after how they've been kicking so far. But I think the first PAT was the one that it looked like he kicked it out of the holder's hands. Thank God he was on Saturday night.

Another thing that's cool about the atmosphere at CNU and the Hampton Roads area in general is the military presence. I thought having a 3 star General give new GIs the oath at half time was something special. Even walked right by him going into the stadium.

I didn't even think to let you know I was heading to the game. I had a busy week of JV and varsity football games and seeing buddies I haven't seen since New Year's. Would have been nice to meet another poster and have a beer. Maybe next time.

Just checked out the NCAA's statistical website and the USA South has some good things going on this season so far...

LaGrange's Craig is leading DIII with over 2300 passing yards,
Huntingdon leads the country in total offense with 567.3 yards per game,
Maryville is tied for total first downs and tied at the top of the nation in few sacks allowed with only 1, but solely in first in sack yards allowed at 4 (.14 per game). Also number 11 is rushing yards per game at 292.1.

All three teams in the top 50 in many more categories. CNU is thrown in the mix in a few as well.

I walked by him entering the stadium as well. So we must have been close. I was wondering how the ROTC cadets would react when he turned the corner. I've lived on or near USAF bases all my life...was born on one. I got used to it after awhile. I spent much of my youth involved in sports at Langley AFB...used to be TAC HQ and is now ACC HQ....can't spit on base without hitting a General.

interesting stuff....I'm sitting here wondering how many different D3 teams I have seen play....and where.... I'd love to hear some other stories as well...

I have seen 22 different teams play (about 10% of D3 - not too bad).....it might be 23 - I went to a Bridgewater game one weekend but I don't remember who they played or when I went....I think it was 2007....not sure.

I have been to the Stagg Bowl once.

I have been to 6 CNU road games.....we went 1-5 in those games so maybe I should stay home (I'm a huge Minnesota Vikings fan - I've been to 4 Vikings games - yup 0-4). Other than Salem and the one Bridgewater game, I went to games where CNU played....Salisbury, Wesley, Averett, Mary Hardin Baylor, Hampden-Sydney, and Shenandoah. I may have been to 2 Shendandoah games. So if I did we are either 2-5 or 1-6.....age is a terrible thing!

I'd love to see who has been to the most games and where they went.

I'll throw my list on here, but I wouldn't count most of the places on here since I was on the team.
But I went to HSC home games in high school and actually worked the chains and balls one year.
Other than HSC vs ODAC teams I saw Gettysburg, Hopkins, Montclair State (playoff game one year I was at MC), King's, and probably a few others I can't recall.
I've been to an HSC/RMC at Macon too.
Other places I've been (again, most while on the team at Maryville):
Ferrum, Averett, Methodist, NCWC, CNU, Greensboro, LaGrange, Huntingdon, Centre, Shenandoah, E&H, and Tennessee Tech (FCS, wasn't pretty but we did score), and BSC for scrimmages.
That makes my total stadiums around 17 or so, and, what, 25 or 26 teams I've seen play. Who knows.

I've been to the last 2 Stagg Bowls. Make that 28-29 different teams.

My wife and I have been to Huntingdon road games at LaGrange, Birmingham-Southern, Millsaps, Mississippi College, Louisiana College, Trinity, Rhodes, Sewanee, Maryville, Greensboro, Hampden-Sydney, Wesley, Ithaca, Westminster(Mo), and Eureka.

Let's see, I've seen college (all divisions) games at Guilford, Greensboro, Bridgewater, E&H, W&L, Ferrum, Averett, Methodist, Salisbury, Davidson, Mars Hill, Lenoir-Rhyne, Brevard, Elon, Catawba, Wingate, VMI, Appalachian State, Western Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke, NC State, UNC-CH, Clemson, South Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee.  As opponents, I've seen Illinois, Vanderbilt, Liberty, James Madison, Towson State, Chowan, Furman, Long Beach State, CW Post, Newberry, Presbyterian, Carson-Newman, NNA, Randolph-Macon, Hampden-Sydney, Catholic, Shenandoah, Southern Virginia, Wofford, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Georgia, East Carolina, UT-Chattanooga, Pittsburgh and probably many others I simply can't remember!

still smarting from the LaGrange loss.... but been to Rhodes, Milsaps, LaGrange  a bunch (and we won those), Sewanee, BSC, Westminister (in Mo), La College, Murval ( a couple times), Centre, a pile of Huntingdon Home games........too many NAIA games that the Hawks played against.

not all of the above were watching Huntingdon games (been on the mtn several tines to watch sewanee and the Coast Guard Academy)

been to 4 Stagg Bowls

i love small college football ( i played D2 and the Boy played & coached at Huntingdon)... so... before the boy (now 24) went to Huntingdon, i hauled him ( or his older sisters...or his mom) to see most of the D1aa, D2, and NAIA teams in jawja and bama.

I am 60 now, and the luster for many things have faded............but not for football where there aint a lot of money, most the kids that are on the field really badly love it, and the people watching got a kid in the game..or are super alums..

sorry ;)
