Just wanted to throw a little kudos at Gboro for their upcoming schedule. Really moving in the right direction, they are.

I know they've had a couple of years where they scheduled some non-D3 schools (SoVa and UNC-P), and teams in the past like Gallaudet haven't exactly challenged the Pride. But the 2009 lineup of Gilford, E&H and W&L is a good one and should improve Greensboro's longer-term performance as squad.

Those ODAC teams are good and challenging for the Pride, but they're not so good as to be unbeatable -- as evidenced even by GC's win over E&H last season.  :)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Does anyone know how you can find out how much each school in the usa south cost?

During the past 4 years Averett's cost averaged between $24,000 and $26,000 depending on major, books, housing, food plan, etc..

Greensboro College 30,700   2-8
Next years cost anticipated to be 32,200

Maryville  37,000  5-5

Averett  32,000   4-5

Ferrum 31,000   7-3

Averett's Web site says tuition and room/board total $27,690 -- but that is probably based on dorm living only, and it doesn't include books and other expenses.

Another site, CollegeData.com pegs the whole shebang at just over $31,300.

Averett's may be going up for 2009-2010 term; don't know. What I do know is I paid between $24,000 and $26,000 @ year for the past 4 years and come this Saturday (graduation day) it is over. As soon as I see that piece of paper go in his hands you will be able to hear me all the way to Florida and back. Then my friend Mr. Turkey (Wild) 101, and I will begin the celebration.

Dang, sounds like I had an angel with me. (Or someone or thing that couldn't add right). Or it could have been Mr. Turkey had me blind folded and I didn't look all the way down the sheet. Makes no difference now, it's done unless number two son decides not to take exams this week. Then it will require my foot being surgically removed from his buttocks.

Different subject for everyone......

I am noticing that everyones schedule seems to be shaken up from previous years. For example Averett for the past 3 years has played Maryville the last game. Now Maryville and Averett is scheduled in the middle of the season.

Is there any rhyme or reason for this. Appears everyone still plays their out of conference schedule the first 3 games so that isn't the reason. I liked going to Shennadoah in November and taking the chance on getting some snow.

I am not sure why the schedule was changed....Its all the same in the long run...you have to win to get in...

On a side note, Ferrum is @ $31,000.00 a year. Options are out there for financial assistance, but it was @ 4K when I was there. Glad I am not starting now.
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

You were right about Averett being around $32,000. I went back and checked last night and to my suprise it was just over $32,000. My son was able to get some scholarships that pulled it back down and I didn't notice. I was just looking at the number I had to write the check for. Sorry for the incorrect information.
