I had heard whispers the Frostburg St was applying for full membership for the CAC but that was last fall.
I also thought that Stevenson was to have a meeting concerning football in May which only leaves them tomorrow unless they just haven't made a release available yet!
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

IMHO, CNU stays put until there is a Pool A conference for football.

They must be weighing travel expense for all programs vs football Pool A access.

(IMHO, If Shenandoah doesn't go to the Capital but instead goes to the ODAC, where they have applied to join on a few occasions, then CNU stays in USA South.)

I like what I'm hearing here. Maybe our football team has finally found a home.

Go Hawks!!

moshergc9

more private schools.  less state schools.  sounds good to me.

@d3jason

CNU ranked number 14 in Sporting News Preseason magazine. Ogun is on All-American team.

CNU85

hmm...Interested posts.

I thought SU going to the ODAC was a done deal.

CNU going to Capital AC - some of those schools don't play football (Mary Washington).

I also heard that the USA South re-alignment plan as described in the below link was rejected by the College Presidents.....not 100% sure about that.

The only thing I can almost gaurantee is that CNU makes no moves unless they end up in a conference with an AQ from day one.

Anyone else have more info?

Pool B is a good place to be in football right now if you're any good.

I've always had my issues with CNU being in the conference but I would not want to see them leave.  They have raised the level of competition of football in this conference since joining and I wouldn't want them to move to a new conference just because they have been dominant.  It was almost take away from any conference championship won after they left, because to be the best you have to beat the best.

Ok, there all you CNU fans...I gave you a compliment, but don't expect to many more because I still hate you  ;D

Just an idle thought, but if this thing does come back and pass ( I think they took it home to the coaches before voting) then I'm loving to see how they work this out for football.
Even though its proposed for 2010-11
The sked for this fall would have Maryville with 9 conference games.
Without MC LaGrange and Huntingdon have to find a new opponent to fill a date, if MC plays them and drops two games in-conference then are we going to be sitting here trying to re-figure schedule strength and who played who when it comes time to break a tie. (Come on you know this conference producing an outright champ is just a fluke at this point)

Just a ponder.

Good point. However, I think CNU would want a conference with an AQ before moving. Maybe one year without it might work, but I doubt it.

I think it would be a good change and more competive year in and year out to see who will win the usac.  Cnu has obvious advantages that give them the upper hand in every conf game they play.

At the same time they do force teams in the conf to play better football and that only matters if you get to use it in the tourney.

I wish that it was a done deal, we could use another football member. Unfortunately the non-football schools aren't interested in adding new members at this time because of scheduling issues in the other sports, and they're in the majority. I can actually see their point to some extent because SU would make 14 full members, but I'd still like to see another football team.

Frostburg State has accepted an invitation to join the Capital AC in July 2010.

That is three football schools in the CAC, and we are awaiting the announcement of the highly anticipated initiation of football at Stevenson.

Everybody already knows he is a beast.

I dont think anyone will be sleeping on him.

Agreed, no one is going to be surprised by Ogun this year.

Got any details on any other aspect of the team? Can you fill in any of the question marks on defense or is Long going to be reprising his role at QB or back at his original position? Unless there is some surprise in the CNU ranks, I could see the AQ slipping away from them this year.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.
