The conference releases went out Tuesday on the no merger vote. Was surprised it was unanimous.

Below's the link to The Daily Times story by Christopher James.

According to the article, it sounds like football had schedules ready for 2010 and everything. Any chance the USAC goes ahead and lets Huntingdon and LaGrange afffiliate for football only?

It's probably a dead issue now.  GSAC & USA-South commisioners should have just gone with football linking up only - then eventually have the other sports merge into the conference.

I wasn't surprised by the unanimous votes because usually votes done by presidents gets amended to reflect a unanimous vote to show unity amoung the presidents.  It could have very likely have been a 4-3 or 5-2 vote, who knows.

It's just very interesting the USA-South got LaGrange & Huntingdon on a head coaches conference call in June and presented a couple of different schedules to them as well.  I wonder who made that decision to string them along??

any word on when it will be finished Narch?

narch, I may now be able to attend the Guilford/Methodist game in Fayetteville on Sept. 12.  Let me know if you're going to be there.

Good to hear about the new weight facility - always a plus for recruiting!

I know I'm a bit late on this but, I don't think Greensboro has ever beaten CNU. Hee Hee. Just wanted to twist the knife a little.

Go Caps!

Ironically, one thing that CNU fans might wish for the sake of a healthy USA South Athletic Conference at this time is a Greensboro football program that runs off about 3-4 consecutive wins over CNU.

You mean like having Ferrum run off about 3-4 consecutive wins over CNU  ;)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

At this point, I think Greensboro might hope for 3-4 wins this season.

If we have 4 wins this season I would consider it a very good year for the Pride.

4 football wins from now will be around halfway through the 2010 season for the pride...
