big game for preston today, albeit too little too late...
? how does your 3rd string Qb have more touchdowns than your starter? I think he only played 1 half of this game.
well, i'll try to explain it...when he played, he threw the ball, players caught it in the endzone or they ran into the endzone after catching it...and it happened more times in one half than it has for the rest of the season - does this help?
Classic narch.  +1  :)

There's a Methodist player who threw it
To a teammate who caught it - I knew it!
He then ran past the line,
Where the ref said "That's fine!
By rule it's a TD - just do it!"

Kicker Dad - you may be 1 -3.  Averett won't be an upset when they win.

Preston did look good in that game and the offense they ran suited his style.  However, the majority of the MU offense is designedfor a mobile qb and right now Teague is your man.  Narch is correct.  Has to be something the coaches are seeing everyday.  Otherwise, Preston wouldn't be 3rd string.  You also have to look at the stats before you pass judgement.  There have been a lot of balls dropped that would have boosted teagues standing in your eyes.  I have said it before.  Teague is a gamer and tough as nails.

Narch, are you vicariously leading a poet's life through me again?  Now that would be poetic justice!  lol  :)   Good luck to MU tomorrow!

35-7 at home to a conference opponent??? What a joke. Congrats to NCW but I am extremely disappointed in my team and flat out embarrassed. Oh yeah, it was homecoming and you can't even show up for that game? Defense needs to stand up, the team is giving up 20+ points at home per game. Not a CNU type defense at all.

Maybe I come off harsh but I expect better from my team and I want them to do better. Good luck the rest of the way and continue to work hard.

Well I was 0-4 with my USA-South picks last week (teams that I follow) & 4-0 win my picks with the ODAC games (teams I know nothing about).  So here are my expert picks for this weekend....

Christopher Newport @ Greensboro  (CNU bounces back)
Ferrum                    @ Shenandoah  (SU must be shell-shocked on all the close loses, tough year)
Methodist                  @ Averett  (Averett gets a close win)
Maryville                  @ NCWC  (Tough for NCW to play 2 great games in a row, so MC finds a way for a W)

Weather says 80% rain for the game.  Would feel good about the rain would slow down NCW's offense, but just remembered NCW scored 35 against CNU in the rain last week......  Key to MC will be if MC's defense can play well early in the game....

How true - on both points!

There once was a vicarious poet -
Limericks were his friends', don't you know it!
Now his nom de plume,
Hasn't lost its own bloom,
But I am a spare boat of iambs ... so row it!

Good luck to all the teams tomorrow ... may you live vicariously through your favorite players!  :)

Rooting for you this week Proud Fighting Scot - redeem yourselves for some tough "L's" and make the long ride home enjoyable with a "W" this weekend.  (also - what's the 4 Cody refer to?)

Pride - Make if a homecoming to remember this weekend and get above the .500 mark.

ProudFightingScot

Thanks for the info Bishop.  I'll pass it on took several of our fans.

The signature "4 Cody" is in reference to Cody Bowers who was a '04 graduate and assistant coach for the Fighting Scots.  Cody died in a car wreck just after the 2007 season and we lost a very dear friend.  Cody's best friend also died in the car wreck.

"Legends Rock" which our players run by and touch the helmet before entering the game field was built to honor all former players and was funded through donations made in Cody's memory.  A plaque at the bottom of "Legends Rock" gives special recognition to Cody.

Thanks for asking.....
