Averett over Methodist 38-7. The game was very embarrassing from the MU side of the ball. Offense did nothing and defense stopped nothing. AU ran the ball with ease all day long against a very small and inexperienced defense for the most part. Game looked like it was going to be a very physical game during warm-ups after each team taunted each other but it turned out that AU was the only team that came to play. Congrats on the big win!!

SU (28) Ferrum (21)

Check that, Keone Kyle is out for violating team rules.

Not good for the Home team SU.

Ferrum (42) SU (23) ... hate to say that but I am realist after learning that Kyle is out.

NaturalSelection

Keone Kyle being out is a huge loss but i dont think SU defense can stop Ferrum offense after last weeks lost to Greensboro. Ferrum is going to come out firing.

SU 13 Ferrum 9 at the 1/2.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda just does not count for W's ... the Hornets need a big WIN.

Go Hornets!

Another very, very disappointing loss by the score of 19 to 13.

Coach Brock's Defense was huge all night and gave the team a chance to stay in the game.  The kids played hard.  What changes need to take place for the offensive to put more points on the board?

SU was won just 10 out of the last 47 games.

2009: 1-6
2008: 3-7
2007: 2-8
2006: 2-8
2005: 2-8

Sorry folks, sorry but the woulda, shoulda, coulda stuff needs to stop being said.  The W's are not coming, something must change for the offense to get more points on the board!  Coach Brock's defense is doing ALL they can do.

SU needs an explosive threat. They are a very solid team all the way around but they lack that explosive attack. They did very good without Kyle playing tonight and they looked much better offensively tonight then they did against Methodist. They are a very strong and physical team they just lack that big play ability that other schools have. Their defense played amazing against the option all night. Other then the lack of the explosive player, the turnovers hurt them tonight, particularly in the third quarter. They should of put ferrum away when they recovered the ball inside the 20 but couldnt.

Congrats to AU for an impressive season.  MU struggles continue. MU was missing a large number of starters and role players due to the flu and injuries. I don't believe it would have made a difference as far as AU winning but it may have been a closer game.  No surprise AU dominated as they have dominated several teams this year.  Great athletic team.

Only advice I have for them is to act like they have done it before.  Several unsportsmanlike penalties and several times they should have been called.  When you outclass a team, be classy about it.

Greensboro almost pulled a big upset - had CNU at the half.  They gave a good effort and that team is improving.  Won't be surprised if they're a fact next year.  They have a good coach.

Does anyone know the conference tie-breaking process for determining who goes to the play-offs?  (I won't think there would be more than 1 representative due to everyone's non-conference performances, but could be wrong).

Right now there is an outside possibility of a 3 way tie for the title if (and that's a big if - because these are still kids and anything can happen week to week) CNU, AU win out and AU upsets NCWC in the year's final game.

I won't think it could be head to head like in a 2 way tie because they all would've beaten each other in a round robin.  Is it a drawing?  Coin flip (like in "Friday Night Lights"?) or some other tie breaking process?
