I agree with Narch...that sure is a lot of information to gather just from the sideline

I would like to salute admiralpapi for being one TRUE supporter of the Monarchs this season.  There have been a number of people that use this board to call for Coach Sypult's job, but you stand behind a great man. Now that my playing days are over I'm here to stand behind Coach Sypult and his staff.  These men put in countless hours and gave us a chance to win. If anyone is to blame it should be the players, myself included.

Best of luck to NCW this weekend.

Not if you are actually on the sidelines, in the meetings, on the practice field and have first hand knowledge to everything being discussed. Sounds like a former coach talking. I apologize publicly if I am wrong but what the Natural is saying does sound like he was present and heard and saw things first hand.

The conference awards need to be taken out of the ends of the coaches.

Point 1) TE awards
GC Richardson 33 rec 660 yards 6 TD's 2ND TEAM
NCWC Washington 28 rec 485 yards 1 TD 1ST TEAM

Point 2) Punter awards.  The conference did get it mostly right, in terms of punting average. However net punting GC did lead the conference.  That is part punter and part punt coverage.  I think that was overlooked.

Point 3) Offensive line awards.  GC was not a running team and relied on the pass.  GC allowed the 2nd fewest sacks in the conference and yet have no OL awards.  In fact the 2nd half of the season GC was a better running team.  Mr Martin rushed for several 100 yard games.

Point 4) LB awards.  Mr. Morrison of GC made the list, but not Mr. Stallings who actually finished slightly higher than Morrison.

Point 5) COY Award.  Listen I think both coaches ought to get the award.  NCWC did go undefeated in conference play.  Coaches already knew that NCWC had a good team, however all the coaches thought GC was THE WORST team.  GC finished 3rd.  Coach Hunt deserves the award as well.

There needs to be another way to determine these awards.  The current system is biased.

kickerdad...if I had my guess, I'd say it was a player...probably on the defensive side of the ball, and by the sounds of it, a little disgruntled.

MonarchMarine, Congrats on finishing out your career with a W!  Don't forget ol' Narch, he also bleeds green and gold and has stood behind the program for years.  Does the "marine" portion of your screen name mean you are heading for the corps???

AdmiralPapi, The "Marine" part of the name comes from six years spent in the Marines prior to returning to college.  There were actually two former Marines that were seniors on the team this year. Finishing out with a win means alot to the team after a difficult season.  I hope it is something to build on.  You are right about Narch, he deserves credit for standing behind the program.  There are a few comments he made early in the season I did not agree with, but he is allowed to post his opinions just like everyone else.  NaturalSelection and MUSupporter have taken their shots at the program this year. Thank you and Narch for continuing to stand behind the team.

Someone told me about this story tonight, so I looked it up.  I'm sad to report Greensboro's been instructed by the NCAA to forfeit two of its victories, over Guilford and W&L, for the use of an illegible player.  This means Greensboro's stellar 6-4 season is now officially 4-6.  I'm a Guilford alumnus, but I honestly don't want to "win" games by forfeit - I feel bad for the Pride.  :(

Tough going today for the Bishops- Its a shame that we as a conference are not to the point of really being competitive in the post season.
If you are interested, I am posting an open forum discussion on my blog about just that, and would like to see a lot of the posters from this board come over to leave comments on my blog. I have a fairly decent following, but would like to have some diverse input.

Thanks Allen I will definitly visit your blog. I don't think there is any doubt the better team won today. Having said that, I am very proud of the boys . For a team that has only been in the league for 6 years, I think we are on the right track.
