Just got on the USA-South new website and saw that Maryville is not even listed on the home page with the rest of the conference schools!!!  When you click to each logo it links up to the school's website.  You can't do this for Maryville.  The only mention about Maryville is when it is listed as an affiliate school.  The old website had MC's logo with the rest of conference's schools.

So the website home page does not promote Maryville College, but has a picture and story about football Media Day at MC and has WR Wesley Idlette promoting good sportsmanship on its Sportmanship Video Campaign.  Who is NOT promoting good sportsmanship.....

It seems like the conference continues to do things to slight MC.   I hope someone at MC starts making some phone calls to the commisioner's office on Monday!!!!!!!!!!!

That's just wrong!

Checking some other conference sites to see what they do with their affiliate members.

The ODAC does not have Catholic U.'s logo on its home page. As a Catholic alum I am not going to beat down the doors of the ODAC demanding space.

The NJAC has several football affiliates. None are listed with logos on the NJAC home page.

The UMAC has several football affiliates. None are listed with logos on the UMAC home page.

Thanks CNU85.   The conference had no problem promoting MC on its website for 5 years before the change last week.

more importantly...i see a small slice of a cnu logo i've never seen before...and it actually looks really nice...anyone seen the whole thing?

i think the new usasac website looks pretty good, even w/o m'ville...to be honest, i thought the usasac was being very generous to treat associate members the way they have for the last few years...

Averett's kids checked in today.  Alot of optimism for the upcoming season.  Have a freshman class of 59.  Alot of OL (11) and drew well from Florida again (25%of the class, i.e., speed)  Doubt many will contribute in '10 but one never knows.  It will be interesting to see their scrimmage vs. E&H in 2 weeks at home.

I have seen it and it does look sharp.  I believe it is for the upcoming season, but I'm not sure when they plan on making it public.

E&H checked in yesterday as well. There are a load of frosh. Not sure how many. I do understand that the Waspers are starting with 31 O-Linemen, which is great. That's because we are really thin there. I am looking forward to the Averett Scrimmage. It was a good test for both teams last year. Does anyone have the date for the scrimmage?  Best of Luck to all..!!!!  WM

Averett - E&H scrimmage is 2 weeks from this Saturday, the 28th at Averett.

Thanks for the info. My son plays for the Waspers. There is a "homer" that my son played with in high school on the Averett Team. It is always good to see the local boys do well..!! I have followed Averett and was sorry to see that they had couple of down years. It happens! Sounds like things are on the upswing. Best of luck and hope to see you in Danville..!!  Should be a good outing.  WM

Legister left CNU??

yup

To bad Legister wont be back but know they have kids coming in that will be anxious to fill the void. Couple of locals that I know of, Evan Moog, played at Jamestown. Kids a fireplug, not real big but plays like a wildman, wants to hit you coming off the bus. Also was a real good linebacker in HS. Put up about 1500 yards his senior season, most of it the hard way plus have a kid, Montrell Johnson coming in from Smithfield, last year was the player of the year in region A. He put up about 3200 yards between his senior and junior year. Again not a big guy but kids a burner, he gets a crack and he's gone. Add them to the current stable and I dont think CNU will have to much trouble finding someone to carry the mail.

Not doubting MOOG and wanting to start hitting ASAP but this is college football and the smallest guy will knock your hat off (normally). Hope he gets all he wants and good luck to him. I saw the problem with height challenges for linemen and backers even at NAIA Lees-McRae in 92-93 (when I coached) Even at D3 there are some above 6'4'' OL in the league and they present problems for the short guy when they extend their arms and grab you under the shoulder pads. If he has feet he will make it.

3200 yards for Johnson is impressive. Sounds like from what you say he needs to get the ball in space 10 times a game.

Of course I pull for Narch's boys so hopefully they do not burn them.  :)

Naw, just still hit the local Friday night games. Of course I am a bit prejudice about the local kids but you have a couple of good ones there. Moog may remind you of Diggs if he plays on the defensive side of the ball, similiar stature and plays the same way. Johnson, took over for Dyrell Roberts ( Va. Tech). I dont think anybody really noticed D.Rob was gone over at SHS. Says a lot about him right there. Little more size and both are playing D1.

Now if for some reason you have just to much talent coming in let me know, I'll be there with the truck to pick them both up and take them to Danville. No problem.......LOL
