ALLEN
Are they hiring from within? Continuity I was thinking with regards to recruiting

That is a tough one to answer...I would imagine that all of that process will be on a far back burner during the season. I am sure that they will not want this to be a distraction.

There are candidates on the staff that would be qualified. IMHO, Ferrum has a very strong coaching staff.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Off the subject but that boy on the home page running for Pacific worries me. I know some people that would light his a## up running like that. LOL

Pat I agree to a degree on the new site.
Sure the top is a default header but it wasn't out of the question to make each sports header specific to the schools playing that sport.  Though its not mentioned here yet, Agnes Scott and LaGrange are also one sport members.

There are two other things. The statistics page used to go back to year 1 and now just show the last season or current one. That's a loss for those of us who like to dig through numbers. (At least I have print outs of most of it) And the second is as will happen some of the links do strange things with preseason poll links going to wrong sport, etc. Im sure Mike will get all that straightened out as they get found.

Kelchner's comments noted not only that CNU was upping the team size to 125 but that there was a plan in place to expand it to 160 incrementally the next few seasons.

And now we'll lose not only Sypult (19 years) but Davis (17) that leaves Kelchner as the dean come Dec, doesn't it?

More trouble for NCW offense, cut the number of starters returning by 2 on that side of the ball.

I think that is right...Kelchner will have seniority as far as length of service as a Head Coach...Davis was an assistant for 10 years before becoming head coach. Interestingly enough, Ferrum began football in 1955, and Norton was the fourth coach. He came on board in 1960. That means there have been 5 coaches total, but only 2 in the last 50 years of a 55 year program......

Guess who's back lol?  Been a interesting few months.  I just moved to FL for a great job.  I pretty much get to spend my entire day online, which is pretty awesome.  I don't have internet at my apartment yet.  I love having these free wifi hot spots.

Anyway go GC!! I can't wait to watch some games online.  SU fans, I don't think you guys will finish in last place this year.

If any Maryville fans are going to the GC homecoming game this year, you might see me there.  I plan on flying up that weekend to catch the game.  Even though, I think by then my body will reject weather below 50 degrees.

I hope I can be pretty active on these boards again this year!!

ProudFightingScot

Glad to have you back PSBBG....  Don't know yet if I am planning to make the trip.  Depends on my work schedule.  Where in FL are you?  I've got many relatives in the Tampa area??

Looks like MC did a very good job recruiting offensive and defensive linemen.  The size of both lines have greatly improved.....   What's the latest on the Pride??? 8-)

I am in the Ft Myers area.

I am excited to see if the Pride can build off what they did last year.  I haven't really followed the team much since the spring (sorry). We had a rather young offensive squad last year, but they were very exciting to watch.  The defense did lose a number of players.  I know the team has replaced various key players on defense in the past, but they always find away to play well.

I've always said I thought that GC has had some talent on offense in the past.  Enough to be around .500 every year. The offenses of the past would create so many TO's,  it would put the defense in bad spots every game.

I think having an OC that played on those offenses is a good thing. (He knows what happens when the ball is turned over).  I think he will demand sucess.  Plus, I know him personally,  he is a focused and hardworking guy.  A good coach will get that out of is players. Which I know he will get them to do.
