CNU gets to take it's second plane ride to Texas. I hope the game is a little better than the last one. One difference is that I will not be on the plane this time to go watch. I will be on a nice little vacation celebrating year #25 with the Mrs.

But I will sneak a peak or two at the d3football.com scoreboard on my blackberry!

You can follow me on twitter if you want, cc4him2804, and I'll be putting updates on there.

Congrats to CNU on winning the conference and good luck in Texas.....  Your RB Gaines is the real deal and very impressed in his ability to break tackles.  Very physical offensive line and solid defense.

As for the Fighting Scots, very good road wins against Averett and Ferrum this season.  Despite all the injuries, we played tough throughout the year and should have a very good team coming back in 2011.  QB Conner and DB Christy took medical redshirts this season.

Finally, class act by Coach Ierulli and team after the post-game handshakes after the Ferrum game.  Ierulli led his team down to Ferrum's end of the field and congratulated Coach Davis on his career.  The team gave him a round of applause and everyone shook Coach Davis' hand as the Scots left the field.

The conference is going to greatly miss Coach Davis and Coach Sypult from Methodist.  Both outstanding coaches and leaders.........

Deep in the heart of Texaaaaas. This is it. How far have we come? Only a few more days and we will know. I hope we can conjure up some of that magic from 2006 when we shocked The Crusaders 15-10. One thing is certain. If the boys win they will have the thickest steaks they have ever eaten for the post game dinner(That's an old Kelchner promise).

Get at 'em boys. 4 quarters. Non stop.

I have been working like crazy but I wanted to say that I am so proud of the Captains. A lot of people including myself wrote you guys off after the Averett loss but sometime after that you guys got tough, nasty and started playing with a little CNU swagger. Be proud of your Conference title but remember now you carry the weight of the entire conference on your shoulders. No extra pressure, heck thats why you guys won all those games right? Good luck in Texas and continue to fight hard.

I hope all CNU players and parents made it to central Texas safely. If you need suggestions for some place to eat, let me know. See ya at the field.

Tough day for the  CNU today. They came out to play, and things looked good after that fumble in the first, but it just didn't work out.

I hope all of you make it home safely. Have a great off-season and good luck next year!

was keeping track of score via blackberry while hitting an Irish Pub in Asheville NC. 21-0 wih 9 min left in first...? ouch. 59-7.  Anybody who was there....was it a repeat of 2007? Did CNU show any signs of life? Also - can't find box score...any help? Thanks UMHB2001 for the kind words.

You might still be able to log in to the live stats on the cruathletics.com site.  I got home and turned on the video just after CNU recovered a fumble deep in Cru territory.  CNU was held to a fg try and it was blocked and returned for a TD.  After that it was down hill.  In the 2nd half the passing game got going, but it was already 49-7.  CNU got in close several times but the Cru kept them out of the end zone.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Thanks Toby. Got the box score. Congrats to TJ on a big game (13 catches 175 yds and a TD). Also congrats to him and Gaines....1,000 yds for each. first time in CNU history they have 1,000 receiver and rusher in same season.

Congrats to CNU!You never quit. It's tough for any team to come back from a 28 point deficit in the first quarter, especially when turnovers contributed to the first 14. No shame allowed! You represented the conference and looking at some of the  scores and playing a team that has been there numerous times and has built a reputation, Y ou  hould be proud  that you represented the conference after a rocky start when no one expected you to represent the Conference. Job well done and hats off to you!! :)

And PFS, congrats to your team's coaching staff for getting the opportunity to coach at the D3 Senior Classic in December! :)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

PFS- Very nice gesture by Maryville after the Ferrum game- I had not heard about that. Your guys defense just dominated Ferrum on the ground.
I am hoping for bigger things for next year, and a lot will obviously depend on who will coach of the Panthers. I look for Ferrum improve next year, and to be more competitive. 3rd place is better than most folks thought they would finish, including myself, but I really think that in the next three years, Ferrum will be one of the top tier teams, not one of the best of the rest teams.
Hope you have a great holiday!

Ryan- When is the D3 Senior Classic?...At Salem correct?
