The pages are arranged in chronological order.  You can look at the date and see the commentary.  Any thing about the 2011 off-season is in the last few pages.

This version of the message boards has nearly 6 years of posts, but the football off-season gets slow so posting something on the USASouth board will attract the interest of those who want to talk about USA South stuff.

There are 12,000 registered users, so organization is critical.  Welcome to the boards, but we encourage all new posters to learn how to use them, for the sake of all of us.

Thanks.

my bad i didnt wanna go through the 634 pages of it rather just hit a general topic and see the replies.....wow what a great forum

In addition to what Ralph said, you'll notice when you visit the board that topics with fresh conversation have a "NEW" button.  THe first time you press it, it will take you to the first post, but after that it will take you to the 'end' of the board where new discussion is going on.  No "NEW" button?  Nothing's been added since your last visit.

This makes it very easy to hit the topics of interest and ignore the rest.

Who are some of the faces to look for in the USA South conference next year and what team and position do they play?

I as a Ferrum fan, would point to Marcus Mayo- Ferrum QB. Very athletic, and set the passing yards record at Ferrum this past year. He was the USASAC Offensive POY in 2010. The Ferrum offense could really be something to marvel at. They will be really strong...if the Oline is solid.

I would again look for NCW to be strong offensively. Also it does not appear that SU was hurt too bad from graduation.

CNU will be right in the mix as they look to defend their title. They did seem to take some losses to graduation on the lines of scrimmage.
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

KEEPING IT REAL

I guess they got tired of Wesley whopping that !@#

I could be wrong, but I thought the Wesley agreement was for 2 years?  I'm sure 85 would have more knowledge on that but I'm interested in seeing who they will add in place of Wesley.

From what I understand Wesley and CNU had an agreement to play again this year and CNU opted out. This would have been the 4th year including the Hurricane wash out. I wonder how often teams opt out of agreements. I understand Widener cancelled an agreement to play Hobart but that may hav been mandated by the MAC/NJAC cross over agreenment

I forgot about the hurricane game, so it probably was a 4-year agreement.  That is interesting that CNU would back out.  I wonder if it has anything to do with this report in the Daily Press:

I don't know why he would back out even if he was thinking of leaving.. If he is leaving in good standing and with the whispers of CNU maybe joining the CAC you would think that they would want a relationship in good standing with Wesley

You might be on to something. Cannot blame a guy for moving up to coach at D2 where is he has what.....40+ paid players. It's not Free Shoes U (FSU) but it's a move up. Hope he gets it.

I forget how many scholarships are gievn here in Pa at the D2 schools But 40 seems to be oin the ball park. IF he does take over at Lock Haven he will have some rebuilding to do. They haven't had to many winning seasons of late. Mansfield went through a coach search a few years ago and then dropped football!

I think the PSAC got up to 36 a few years ago, but I do not follow closely. I am not sure the PSAC schools are fully funded in football.

The PSAC schools tend to divide the scholarship money as best they can among players after their aid is determined. I believe that 36 "rides" is the max but the number each school varies. I believe Cheney only has about 12, while the powers in the conference may approach 36. I would guess that Lock Haven does not have too many more than that (12). CNU would probably beat Lock Haven right now. It is definitely a rebuilding project.

Coach K's father was the President of a near by PSAC school (Mansfield), when I went there. It seems like it would be a move to closer to home.

Seriously?

Leave CNU one of the cushest coaching jobs in d3?  One reason only; to be closer to family.  Thats it.

KEEPING IT REAL

Need to leave. Need new excitement. Can't get pass the first round of the playoffs. Get some schlorship players. If CNU would have went d2, maybe he would stay. All that campus and your d3.

you really don't understand the d3 philosophy...it's not about getting paid to play...it's about playing for the love of the game and being a student first, athlete second - there are a lot of college presidents, administrators and coaches who embrace this philosophy, including the folks at cnu

I agree 100% . All the extra's are nice for the players but in the end you need the sheep skin.
