Need to leave. Need new excitement. Can't get pass the first round of the playoffs. Get some schlorship players. If CNU would have went d2, maybe he would stay. All that campus and your d3.
you really don't understand the d3 philosophy...it's not about getting paid to play...it's about playing for the love of the game and being a student first, athlete second - there are a lot of college presidents, administrators and coaches who embrace this philosophy, including the folks at cnu

Although most of the colleges and administrators feel that way I know not all student athletes at D3 care about school first. Alot of them only go to that certain D3 school because they didnt get an offer from a higher level school and they simply wanted to continue to play and in order to do so they had to go to school in the mean time...sad, but it happens all to often. Especially at D3

Not division 3 football but if anyone wants to donate to a good cause..

Found out today that Southern Virginia is applying for membership into Division III. Don't know much more than that yet, but the inference can easily be made that they'll be looking to join the USA South to help with the automatic qualifier.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Would a provisional D3 school count towards the minimum required for an AQ?  Piedmont (Ga.) might be able to add men's fb before SoVa would qualify, if not.

What about either Maryville or LaGrange?

There is nothing on the site about this.  They need a better SID.

I don't know the answer to the provisional-school part of your question. As for the second part, Maryville is already a provisional football member for the USA South, so there's not much change that could happen if the school fully became part of the USAC (this is a football board, so that's what I'm focusing on). LaGrange has been talked about here from time to time, but I haven't heard anything concrete.

I honestly don't know how public it's intended to be at this point. I only found out through a source.

UPDATE:
The local newspaper is actually going to have a story on SVU in Thursday's editions. I'm sure it'll be on The Roanoke Times' site and maybe even linked under "What We're Reading" on the D3football.com homepage.

Should have been Guilford that joined the South. Alas...the temptation to stay in the cellar in the ODAC is too tempting...

Thanks ... I actually read that article when it hit the front page but I didn't realize it was the one you were referring to.

Guilford doesn't want to be in the USA South and football's only one sport.  Besides, we were 0-3 against the USASAC last season also.  :)

svu to the usasac does not excite me...any school which has had compliance problems with the naia...well, i didn't know you COULD get in trouble with the naia...

With SVU, it seems to be all about geography and who's available for football.  One of the reasons the NAIA still exists is because there are hundreds of schools that still don't fit the NCAA model.
