After reading about the German and American football game on the home page I laughed. In the 70,80, and even early 90s the Army had football teams at the Division and sometimes Brigade level. They would play other military football teams, D1 JV's and JUCO's. For example FT Bragg had its own team called the Dragons. But I remember once in Germany the Americans were playing Stuttgart football. In this game we had this former Georgia Southern AA linebacker playing for the Americans. He got on the kickoff team as a wedge buster. The Germans at the time did not understand about football as well as they do now. They would get a ball and run standing straight up. This Lieutenant from Georgia Southern launched about 10 yards from the returner. The sound of the 2 hits immediately silenced the crowd. The 2nd sound was the back of his head hitting the ground first. Kind of a quick pop pop. Anyway the German was carted off and was found to have a permanent speech problem and the crowd did not understand how he "got thru while flying" and the Americans jumping up and down in celebration. It was slaughter for the rest of the game. Needless to say the Germans did not get all "nuances" of Americans football. Sounds like they are picking up.  :)

Ah....memories. LOL

On the other side, sounds as though Japan's women's soccer team has caught up with the Germans at their own game.

Nice.  Well, it was probably at the SRI Shoe Warehouse near my house.  They have both a "Mens" and "Womens" Department, which is plurality on steroids!

mu 3rd string qb kevin corona got a chance to throw with chad ochocinco, and it was caught on youtube (imagine that...ochocinco taking an opportunity to hype himself)...kevin is introduced at around 2:15 - there is some language that isn't appropriate, so turn the volume down if the kids or boss are around...hasanova, i know your quaker values, and i suggest you not watch :)

here is an article about it from the fayetteville observer...http://fayobserver.com/articles/2011/07/12/1107859?sac=Sports

I'm sure ochocinco has an "inner light" somewhere, but sadly it keeps being overshadowed by his cerocero "inner hype."

Do you guys know of any journalists or organizations that cover the USAC really well, in your opinions? I need to get in touch with someone ... going to try Newport News and Fayetteville (see above). Any other suggestions?

Interesting day. I haven't been on the boards in awhile. I decided to look around on same day I had to decline an invitation to Media Day on Monday and then saw this:

I'm ready for some football!!

HSC85

CNU85,

I noticed that the Captians have a new Defensive Coordinator.  He has been working the 3-3-5 defense for a number of years at WVU, HSC and Michigan.  Do you think a change in defensive scheme is at hand at CNU this year?

Allen C

Looks like they also have hired a QB coach.

It's that time of year again. So as by tradition ...

If anyone has any suggestions on questions they'd like asked at Media Day let me know — either via posts or email — and I'll consider them for the webcast portion.

Remember you forfeit right to belly ache about question quality if you don't submit. ::)

Any word leaked out yet on what USASAC teams may be considered for the Hornets 2012 football sked as non-conference games?
