Ferrum had the only USAC win of the weekend.  We're up to 5 teams with a 2-1 record overall (the others being 0-3) heading into conference play next weekend.   :-\

I think you mean 5 teams with a 1-2 record.

Ferrum seemed to dominate both sides of the ball against the Eagles. Was not there, but to only give up 2 FG's is hopefully an indicator of things to come. Time for the conference play to begin!

I did mean 1-2, thanks for catching that.

Good luck to Adm Pappi and Narch's boys. Narch has become much more hateful over the years ;)

Do not be surprised to see Methodist pull one off today! I have a feeling about this game.

;D. I liked your feeling.

Bishops found a running game today, ha la lu ua!! :) You made me proud today...
The only easy day was yesterday

the monarchs just didn't come to play today, and cnu capitalized no mu mistakes - the monarch punt return team had a tough day, with 2 muffed punts recovered by the captains and 2 punts that should have been fair-caught, but were allowed to roll inside the one yard line, giving the captains great field position - 2 of cnu's scores were a direct result of these blunders - although the monarchs cut down significantly on the number of penalties, there were a couple at  inopportune times

the 26-14 score is really misleading, as well...the monarchs scored both td's in the last few minutes - they were really dominated by the capts. for all but about 2 minutes today

a few things i did like...max reber did a really nice job punting, filling in for an injured dodd, the monarchs recovered two onside kicks and i like the fact that the team faught until there were zero's on the clock...congrats, to the capts on a big win

Captain Bob

For the CNU side, it was good to get back on the right track.  Big props to Lyndon Garner, a sophomore filling in at QB after the senior starter hurt his knee early in the game.  Markeese Stovall continues to be an offensive powerhouse and someone to fear in the USA South as he found paydirt for 3 of the 4 Captains touchdowns.    As Narch said, the final score doesn't tell the whole story - the Monarchs scored both of their touchdowns within the final minute of the game.

Congrats to CNU- Guess I should pay more attention to stats than feelings. I do think Methodist is heading in the right direction.

As for Ferrum, they looked really good against Maryville. The Panthers have not allowed a touchdown in 8 quarters. Took care of business against the Scots 27-3. On to Rocky Mount next week. Should be a good game.
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

Narch, I am extremely disappointed in you. You being the grammar/spelling nazi and all. I think your correction privileges should be revoked.  ;D But truth be told, there is no need to correct people on here if we all get the point.

Boston, Fayetteville - sometimes I can hardly tell them apart.  They've got Fenway Park and Old Ironsides - you've got Hay Street and Fort Bragg.  :)
