I'd have to agree with Captain Bob. CNU is about 2 plays from being undefeated this season. We have had the lead late in the 4th each game this season. Where I disagree is that the game will be a close one. In years past, I have seen Ferrum come rolling into town averaging close to 500 yards a game only to be shut down by the CNU defense. I know the past is past but this CNU team has a solid defense too. We had Salisbury all but shut down until late. Salisbury went on to score 60 points or more in its next 4 games. My prediction is that CNU jumps on Ferrum early and never looks back.

Should be a really good game. I hate the thoughts of making the long trek out to Ferrum, but I will not miss this one for the world.
I have kept a pretty close eye on CNU this year, and I agree that they seem to play to the level of their competition. I also have seen....too many times how well and consistently they can stop the option. I am guessing that it will likely not be all that high scoring a game. The defenses will probably dominate the game.
I would not be surprised to see it come down to a field goal.
Good Luck to all the Captain fans.

I really do not know about Ferrum. However, I know about both Salisbury and CNU. What made the game so close between Salisbury and CNU was definitely the weather and the fact that it was the first night game for CNU and family day. CNU was able to move the ball and capatilize in the red zone (except late) using a down hill run game and great special teams plays. Yet, when it rains, Option teams such as Salisbury tend to struggle because of their lateral movements down the line of scrimmage. If the game was played on a dry field, it would have been totally different   in favor of Salisbury (not taking anything away from CNU defense). But, Salisbury is way better than that game showed or indicated, especially the first three quarters and the first couple minutes of the fourth quarter of that game. Salisbury was able to show their grit and make a great comeback on the road against the most exciting and craziest fans I have had the opportunity of seeing.  Moreover, that's why you play the game, regardless of weather, field, time, and opponent. Nevertheless, both Salisbury and CNU have been playing each other for years (I have played in 4 of those game between 06-09 for Salisbury) and both programs deserve the upmost respect and recognition.

Thank you for your kind words, sir.

Us Crazy?  ;D

Does anyone know if the CNU/Ferrum game will have video streaming? I was planning on making the trek but it's just not in the cards. The radio broadcast has always been good but watching is always more fun.

Ferrum does not have video capabilities....yet. They are suppose to by next season. To my knowledge, audio is all that Ferrum can put out. That has been somewhat iffy this year also.

We have FM 99.1 locally here in the Newport News area. That always comes in loud and clear for me. I don't bother with internet feeds unless it's video. Oh well.

Really wish I could be there. 48 hours til the conference championship.

For all those seniors who read this board remember this is the last time you probably will suit up.

Do not let one second of your last game escape you. Play like it is your last heart beat.

Listen to Vide Cor Meum right before the game.

Includes rosters for both teams, series history, etc.  Lots of good stuff.

We still have one more week of games...right? Ferrum has to play Averett, and Maryville comes to CNU on the 12th....  Not to mention, either Ferrum or CNU will play at least one more week after that.

I stand corrected.  :)

But they still can play like it's the last day of their life.

Panthers are looking to do just that. Ferrum is really strong, and I think that this may ....finally be their time. I hope so anyway.

I'd have to say — looking at nonconference record — that the conference is down overall this year.

That doesn't mean I don't believe that CNU or Ferrum dont have a prayer in the first round of playoffs, except to say I think the nonconference indicator is going to penalize either one into a game at a No. 1 or No. 2 that will be very tough.

If Mayo comes out playing well I have to give the nod to Ferrum being at home, but we'll see what happens in about 13 hours.

Either way, the way the fourth quarters have gone this season, I'm kind of looking forward to next weekend and seeing one set of cardiac kids against another when Murvul goes to POMOCO.
