Honestly we don't have a prayer of hosting a game imo.  We are ranked 10th in the South Region, behind 3 teams who are 9-0 and four with just one loss.  I just don't see it.

Yeah, I think it all comes back to that Stevenson game. Still it is always interesting to see what the NCAA does. The south bracket is always interesting with the tendency to conserve money by creating the "Texas sub-bracket". Which essentially allows a home game to the 5th seeded team. Unfortunately, this year we have a very strong McMurray team in 5th which is also from texas. I think they get in with an at large bid. Im seeing Trinity(3) vs. Mcmurray(5) in round 1. Hopefully we can get a Hampden-Sydney and/or Thomas More loss this weekend. If not I fear we may make the long trek to Texas to face UMHB.

Honestly, depending how the east shakes out, I could see us getting shipped to the east bracket. I have looked at any of the qualifiers in the East.

I love saturdays

Me too. I've been out of commission for awhile due to surgery and finally made it to a game today. First game I have seen since the Shenandoah game. I missed Homecoming and the record crowd.

Who is this QB Edwards? The guy is amazing. And he has been sitting the bench for almost 3 full years? 2nd start. 7 TD passes in two games. Goes 17-24 for 331 yards. I have to go check his season stats. I bet in the 2.5 games he has played they are impressive. And who is #81? I saw this huge TE out run the entire MC defensive backfield. They looked to have the angle on him and he smoked them.

I wonder where we are going to travel next week???

Edwards is 39-54. That's 72%. A passing eff of over 200. 7 touchdowns and only 1 int. Not bad for less than 2 1/2 games of work. Averaging 192 yds per game and that's with the half game going 6-7 for I think 39 yards. I say he starts next year. The job is his. Haha. Glad I'm not the coach.

narch

mu finishes off gc 31-14 to end the season on a 2 game winning streak...3-7 isn't the way i wanted to season to go, but they lost 3 one-score games - if this team can figure out how to win the close games next year, they could be in the thick of the race

congrats to cnu on a solid season...but for one shocking game (stevenson), they could be potentially hosting this weekend...i've got to be honest, i didn't see the kind of season they had coming after the first few weeks - make the conference proud next week boys

CNU85

Thanks Narch. CNU has amazed me this year with all the injuries to starters and the players keep coming off the bench. CNU was the closest they ever have been to being 10-0. It will be interesting tomorrow at 6pm to find out who they play and where. I think we will be on the road. I hope not but the south is such a huge region with a ton of excellent teams.

Ferrum finished strong today against Averett. Ahead 33-9, They must have gone to back ups for most of the 4th qtr. Final 33-25. Mayo had 175 yards rushing with 2 TD's, and was 5 of 8 passing for 135 yards and a TD.
He finishes the season with 915 yards rushing, and 12 rushing TD's. He also threw for 1381 yards passing, and 8 TD's. I am thinking that he may well repeat as USA South offensive player of the year.

Who do you see for Coach of the year? I am guessing it will be Kelchner. Is it an automatic that conference champion get this award? For getting second place in his first year as a head coach, I think Harper should get some consideration. I am however quite biased.

Allen C - good points about Coach of Year. I think the FC should be considered and maybe should  win the award had it not been for one thing. CNU injuries. CNU lost it's top two QB, their top RB, their top receiver and all- American return man has sat out 3 or 4 games, one game had the entire starting LB corps out. And they run the table in the conference at 7-0 including a commanding win at Ferrum. For those reasons I think Kelchner should be the Coach of the Year.

D-BAT

SU defeats NCW by the score of 28-7 to finish with their best season since 2004.

Now, the only problem for next year is that they are losing 19 seniors and I think 11 of them are starters +++ going into the ODAC +++ Ferrum and CNU on the non-conference schedule.

It has pretty much been that way except for when CNU won 4 straight championships. The 3rd and 4th year it went to a team that wasn't expected to have as much success as they did.

That makes a lot of sense, and I have to admit, they handled Ferrum a lot easier than I thought they would. I guess I just overall see Ferrum as a team that has show a huge degree of improvement since last year. I really think that the Panthers made a larger stride from last year to this year...SU did also. CNU ended where everyone expected, but they did, as you said overcome a lot of adversity.
Good year for the Panthers, but I hate to see Mayo go. Looks like they will lose(starters) Mayo, 2 RB's, 2- O linemen, 1 LB, and 1 DB

What about Offensive POY...any candidates? does Mayo repeat?

I haven't paid too much attention to rest of conference the past several weeks. Based on my limited knowledge I would have to say Mayo gets POY. However someone could remind me about someone I'm just not thinking about. Stovell would have given it a shot had he not been injured. Edwards has player of year stats but only for the 3 games he has played. So I think the nod goes to Mayo. One heck of a player.

Allen C

I would think SU's Rico Wallace will be considered for POY also.

CNU will play on the road in New Jersey at Kean.  Kean is ranked 12th on the d3football poll.
