This is great news to finally have a conference home. I heard the rumor several months ago but didn't want to get my hopes up until something official came out. Will be looking forward to building some new rivalries.

Go Hawks!

Yes, Big Congrats. I believe everyteam should be able to fight for a legit conference championship and have a shot at an automatic bid, as well as an at-large.

Hey Keeping It Real, I have an honest question for you that I just don't understand enough about the situation to get an answer that makes sense. Tunde obviously has the size and the speed. From the interviews he is also obviously intelligent. He seems to have his priorities in the right place. He has a great attitude. He loves football. What is missing to get invited to NFL camps as a free agent this year?  I don't get it.

Happy Memorial Day weekend.

If anyone wants to thank a former USAC player and current hero, feel free to drop major Lowe an email thanking him for his service.

He is representing Greensboro College Football in a forward operating base in the laghman Provence.  It's a very dangerous place and is he is definitely putting in some work.  Lowe is a coaching fanatic and still follows this conference with diligence.

Send your thanks,
Grady.lowe@us.army.mil

KEEPING IT REAL

Hey CNU85..It's all politics. Need more film, need this, need that...Div 3 hurt him some..He's leading the league in rushing now. He has 2 more games left. Only played 8 and has 1102 yards.
Just waiting.. Thanks for asking.

i'm not an nfl personnel guy, but i listen to a LOT of nfl radio on sirius/xm - here is what is missing, and this is all he is missing

one (1) nfl gm who looks at tunde and thinks "he might be better than one (1) of the other running backs we're bringing to camp" - if one gm thinks that, he'll get the invite - i think "politics" has very little to do with this situation - nfl front office types are INCREDIBLY competitive, and they realize their jobs are INCREDIBLY tenuous - if they think that a guy like tunde ogun could help them more than a guy they have on their roster, they would give him a shot to prove it

they are probably also looking for film of him playing on kick return/kick coverage teams...and not as the return guy, since he doesn't have the kind of speed an nfl return man has (his range for nfl scouts was between 4.56 and 4.82 in the 40 with an official time of 4.64) - realistically, this is where a 4th or 5th rb will earn his keep - does tunde have that film? has he ever covered kicks?

there were undrafted guys from d1 programs in each of the last three drafts who have similar or better measurables (size, weight, speed, strength, short shuttle, etc.) and tape that shows them running by other guys who were drafted - if you're a d3 guy, you better have BETTER measurables than those d1 guys, because otherwise the personnel folks are going to discount what they see on film because of the competition level - tunde doesn't have that, and the league he is playing in now won't change that perception one bit

taking his cnu roots (and family ties for KIR) out of the equation, the question is this - is tunde ogun realistically perceived as one of the top 120 or so running backs in the world?...keep in mind that there are 120 (i think) division IA (FBS) football programs and another 120+ division 1AA (FCS) football programs each with guys who have similar measurables to those that tunde has (not to mention all the d2's)...tall order for even the best agent in the world

The Lion dude AKA Narch is spot on. His last points about the number of tailbacks in the country is sobering for Tunde. I guess he needs to get a shot via free agency

MIssed on that SVU prediction, but the CAC? I know its good for the conference to get closer to an AQ, but this is a right big...hell a giant step for SVU. Given the fact that the program is showing improvement, I, on one hand can see it being a positive for them, but Wesley, and Salisbury.....I think SVU will take their lumps...probably for a while. This will not be a cake walk at first for CNU either, but they will adapt and contend faster...much faster.

Respectfully, I think that SVU probably was more concerned about the geographic area where they wanted to draw their student body than the success of the football team.
