Where is everyone????? Are you ready for some football?

wesleydad

Hey CNU, how are you doing?  What does it look like for your team.  Tough first game with Salisbury.  Will be looking forward to what you think since Wesley gets them the next week.  Good luck this season and enjoy the games.

It appears that there is going to be a lot of rain this upcoming week and weekend. Big advantage for CNU. I believe with the exception of last year, CNU has won every rain game against Salisbury, the odds are in your favor.

Wesleydad,

Doing well. Not real sure about the team this year, other than what I have been reading. I know they went up Friday to Bridgewater for a scrimmage but 5 inches of rain cancelled it.....they rode 3 hours up and 3 hours back for nothing. I bet that was a fun bus ride. I've heard we have tons of running backs and of course 3 QB who all started last year. Should be a good fight for that position. The D is always good. Their 2 starting ILB are transfers from Richmond and Towson. I think the O Line is the least experienced. But I believe they have size. We will have to see how it plays out. I was just looking at last year's results and my stomach became ill. Should never have lost to Stevenson. We had Salisbury game in hand and they took it away from us. And believe it or not, other than about 50 seconds of the Kean game, we were in it and actually controlled it. I think they scored 3 times in that last 50 seconds of the first half....something like that. I will give you a goood report of the game this week. Salsibury is always good. I think we are 2-7 against them?? something like that.

Then I hope it rains. Wish we played this past weekend. Newport News flooded. I have family members who had 3 inches of water inside their cars. Not fun! I hope it dries out and we have a decent game Saturday. I hope you guys go undefeated....after Saturday (Oops...Wesleydad is now mad at me! bahaha!)

Might not hate, but there is a thin line between love and hate. However, if it works, why stop?

Looking forward to see how Huntingdon does against Murrville...now coached by former Hawk reciever and co-OC for the Hawks, Mike Rader (great guy) and former Huntingdon team captain and now OL coach for Murrville, Philip Bailey (another fine young man)

I hope Coach Turk has some tricks that those 2 have not seen 8-)

Greensboro at Guilford tomorrow night at 7 pm in the 16th Annual Soup Bowl between these intracity rivals.  Admission is free if you bring three or more cans of nonperishable food as a contribution to the local food bank.  Give to the college of your choice as there's also a friendly competition on this front between the two schools.

Hope everyone plays their best with good sportsmanship and no injuries.  Oh yeah, Go Quakers!  :)

Thanks Narch! I'll miss the game today but I'll catch a few this year. The Navy is keeping me busy.

Game day is finally here. I'm excited to follow all of the action in the USA South this year. I hope the Captains and the rest of the conference are ready to play and the coaches have all done their jobs to prepare these young men for battle on the gridiron. Good luck to everyone today. Represent the conference proud!

Crazy day in Montgomery as Huntingdon beats Maryville 49-33. Always nice to score 16 in the last 33 seconds to make it look a lot less tense than it was. It will be interesting to see whether Coach Rader has that Maryville offense quickly ready to make some noise in the USAC this season or our defense needs a lot of work to be ready for BSC next week or something in between. Our D-line looked strong as expected for the most part but over all I didn't think we tackled well. We also had several badly blown coverages where we lucked up and the receiver was overthrown. I do think MC will score enough to make some people nervous in conference play as the season goes on.

Good luck to Coach Rader the rest of the way.

Go Hawks!!
