unfortunately, i did a google search for aluminum bleachers, and i can't afford to donate any to mu quite yet :) seating for around 150 is over $12,000...i had no idea they would be that pricey

Many places opt to rent instead of buy.  Maybe you could get a different group to "sponsor" the opposition bleachers for different games.
not a bad idea...a quick search turned up a company that would do this for around $4,000 for the season...seems like a small price to pay for the university, but still more than i would be able to donate :)

i may share this with the mu ad...

narch said "plenty of boorish behavior"

AUsome.. i really mean it.
i'll bet a cola that the only football discussion board where that phrase is used is D3.com 8-)

heck, in UCLA (the part of bama where i live) 'boorish behavior' is such a part of the norm, we ain't even got the phrase in our lexicon

sorry, i couldn't help myself. :)

Lexicon? Is that a horse with a horn or a little green guy who sells cereal with marshmallows?   ;D :P

Very excited about the Panthers game today against Methodist.  Should be a big crowd today and was impressed with the travel fans we had going to Maryville last week.  Congrats to Andre Carter who made USA-South Defensive Player of the Week and also made the D3 Team of the Week.  Amazing stat that he had 4 tackles for loss and 3 sacks against the Scots.

Just one note from the MC game by reading the game stats on attendance.  Maryville lists the stadium capacity of 3,000 and stated there was 5400 at the game.  Now way!!  Our bleachers were about 1/3 full and there were several open spots on the home side.  Now there were many fans standing outside the fence drinking alot of beer (I guess that's allowed at MC), but around 3,000 would be an accurate figure.

I guess MC's SID was drinking with their fans while making the attendance count......

Good luck today Panthers!!!!!

great win for the monarchs today, 26-23 in OT - i was following the game online (listening, mostly, as the video was really useless...but the LC announcers did a really nice job) until mu got the ball inside their own 10 with around 5:00 left and down 10...then i get back online at around 4:45 this afternoon and see the final - ausherman had an amazing day with 4 fg's, including the game tying kick from 45 as time expired...HUGE kick

the lagrange defense held mu in check, giving up just 202 yards of offense and picking off reber twice, but the monarch defense was impressive as well (with the exception of allowing an 85 yard td from the qb) - the mu defense held the leading rusher in the conference to 63 yards on 26 carries (2.4 ypc)

this is a monarch team that has shown tremendous effort all season, despite difficult losses...it finally paid off for the green and gold - this is a team that is 13 points away from being undefeated in conference...maybe losing those close games helped this young team get a hard-fought, overtime road win

I was almost excited to see Panther Guy with a post...I thought that finally I would not be the only Ferrum fan on the board....then I remembered we aint the only Panther in the jungle anymore...oh well, I guees there will be a cat fight Saturday at Ferrum.

Go Panthers....You know which one I mean!

Thanks for the shoutout from the original Panther.   Shoulod be a heck of a game on Saturday.  It just depends which LaGrange team shows up.  Will it be the one who shut down CNU and Maryville on the road or the one who lost against Averett.  Disappointed in our loss against Methodist.  Got to be able to put a team away when we get the chance.

I guarentee a Panther win on Saturday..........

Panther Guy-

I watched the LC@CNU game online, and was really surprised at the outcome...I was shocked because I was at the Ferrum @ Averett game, and had no expectation that Averett would beat LaGrange the next week, after what I saw the week before. So Averett beats LaGrange, the same weekend CNU beats Ferrum...Then LC beats CNU.....very confusing...What I remember is that LC seems to have a really good O-line. They seemed to control things against CNU. Today will be a great game, but unfortunatly, I live about 4 1/2 hours away, and will have to watch on line. Good Luck to your Panthers....Better luck to mine! :)
Are you gonna be at the game?

Narch-

I watched the GC- CNU game last night on line, and it seemed like GC, who is vastly improved, at times gave CNU all they wanted. When I watched the MU- Ferrum game, I remember thinking MU was much better than their record....They gave Ferrum fits. At the same time, it seems as though CNU is winning, but struggling to get their wins. While Ferrum has to take care of business against Maryville first,  I wonder what your outlook is on the Monarchs last game of the season? I will be every bit as big a Monarch fan as you this week!

i think that the monarchs have a shot, but they'll need to play their best game of the season to get the win...the passing game has been a bit off the last two games - reber & co. will need to step it up vs. the capts - the running game looked good vs. averett...it's a 4 headed monster right now...papillion has a nice speed/power game, flanagan is a bull, reber can make big plays with his legs from the qb spot, and payne showed a nice burst and some wiggle vs. averett...but this offense is going to need the passing game to score

defensively, cnu appears to be pretty balanced and they are taking care of the ball...i think mu could hold the cnu offense in check, but mu will need to score 27+ points to win, i think...

"papillion has a nice speed/power game" ... with a name like Papillion (missed it with one extra "i"), it's hard to resist the old Ali line, "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee"!  :)

Allen C: Tough game for MY Panthers last Saturday.  Ferrum got after us on both sides of the ball.  I've seen games at Ferrum before and knew it would be a tough venue to play at.  There is alot of quickness on Ferrum's defense and the 3 picks just killed us.  Still our guys played hard throughout the game.  The turnovers kept putting our defense in tough situations against a very good offensive scheme.  RB Gibson had a big day rushing for 150 yards.

Very impressed with your QB.  Big time player.  Reminds me of Mayo and believe he's just a sophomore.  Ferrum's got good fans, but it was a long drive back to LaGrange after a disappointing loss.

Want to comment later on about attendance figures at a certain school, but that will come later in the week.
