Ferrum had no answers today for MC...It was very disheartening. To get to that point, but again not get there. Go Methodist!
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

mu in yet another tight game...down 29-24 with 6:30 left...cnu offense had been bogged down by the mu defense for most of the 2nd half, but they just went on a nice drive to score the go-ahead td

narch

mu drives for a td, but vaughn cross was mugged on the 2pc with no flag...mu 30-29 with 2:30 left

narch

cnu announcers are very astute...they do a good job

great job monarchs! finishing the season on a 3 game win streak and a 5-5 record is a step in the right direction, especially for a team that could have won 2 or 3 of the games they lost (of course, they could have lost 2 or 3 of the games they won, as well) - great final game of his career for john flanagan...rampage ran all over the captains for 160 yards and 3 tds

first win ever at pomoco for the monarchs

kelchner not exactly verbose tonight...obviously not very happy...seriously - don't let him go anywhere near any bridges for the next 24 hours - i don't know that i've ever heard a head coach so down and negative after a loss...

not to disparage coach kelchner, but that's one of the things i love about coach e...mu lost some heart-breaking games early in the season - the 1 point loss to gc when the receiver has the game winner in his hands in the endzone with nobody 5 yards from him...the 4 point loss to maryville when the kicker missed 3 xp's and a 26 yard fg and the 8 point loss to ferrum when mu had the ball inside the fc 15 twice and came away with 0 points - yet he stayed positive and upbeat in post-game situations, talking about learning from mistakes and getting better each week...i think that kind of attitude trickles down to the team, and was a big reason why the monarchs were able to pull out 3 close wins to close the season...hopefully some of this momentum carries through to the spring and fall!

@d3jason

Impressive drive by the Monarchs to take the lead.

Huge play on CNU's ensuing driving by theMonarch LB on the screen pass with the Captains on 3rd and 1 1/2. Not sure about the CNU play call on fourth down.

Kelchner knows he's headed somewhere unpleasant like Belton, Dover or Alliance.

Next week is gonna be ugly. This season was ugly. 2 conference losses....both at home. This conference is weak. If CNU heads to Alliance, what's over/under? 80?

Narch - your boys have some size.....especially RB. I would not want to tackle those guys!!

Kelchner was down.... and you're right, it is one thing to be down after a tough loss....it's another to sound defeated!

that was a great play...maybe a game-winner...that middle screen had been effective for the captains, and conyers sniffed it out

thanks for the shout-out, '85, but all i did was wear my lucky mu shirt and cheer for my boys to get to 5-5 :)

i know that kelchner and cnu have bigger vision than most in the usasac, but i'd take 6-4 and dancing...hell, i'm excited about 5-5 and season over because of where mu has been the last few years

narch

check out the day the gc qb and wr thorpe had...throndset - 598 yards, 4 td's, thorpe - 22 catches, 391 yards, 3 td's

that's a good month for most guys...

narch

the captains got the draw i expected with muc...go captains :)

CNU85

yikes!!!!!!  MT Union!! Playing with the big boys!!

Go Captains!!!!!

wesleydad

cnu, if you have never been the trip to mount is fun.  from what i saw yesterday the captains are in for a long day.
