cnu, if you have never been the trip to mount is fun.  from what i saw yesterday the captains are in for a long day.

Been there and done that.........Mt. Union is not where you want to be... However, the people there are great and as friendly as anywhere you will go. The drive is long and if you go Penn. Turnpike, be carefull. Easier to go over to Charleston and go up 77. Either way, its a long haul.

For all of you CNU fans coming to Alliance, welcome! Alliance is a small town so don't expect too much. :) We have a Holiday Inn Express and a Super 8 plus some very good places to eat. But if you come up 77 you'll drive into Canton which has a variety of hotels/motels to stay in. Canton is about 20 minutes west of Alliance. But whatever you do, have a safe trip! And keep an eye on the weather up here as you'll be in the open stands which can get windy and cold.

Those CNU fans that will be making the trip to Alliance and are looking for a place to eat, you have a place that is easy to find. You can come park your car or bus and join all us Raider fans at the student center for an all you care to eat breakfast/lunch buffet. The cost is $7.50 and trust me, you will be treated with respect and no hassle will be given. A very friendly crowd and glad to share experiences with you. They usually open around 10 or 10:30, allowing for a time to eat and it's right next door to the stadium. Thought I would pass it along and hope to see many of you there for the waffles, eggs, sandwiches, sausage, homemade donuts, you name it, they got it. Safe travel to all, no matter the mode of transportation.

Wow! Great hospitality. I wish I could make the trip! Sounds like a great time and a great fan base! I would love to see the game. I did go to the 2007 Stagg Bowl and saw the Purple Raiders. Good luck Captains. I'm sure there will be a few people going. I'm sure the school is trying to find level of interest of students for buses. Alliance is a bit further than Hampden Sydney, but we had 4 buses going plus all of us in cars. I expect CNU will have a decent showing of fans.

I haven't been but everything I've heard is UMU is first class for visiting playoff teams and fans off the field and in the stands. On the field, they don't seem to be as kind... Of course, they probably have more experience then anyone else hosting and a lot of experience being magnanimous in victory!

While I'd love to experience the hospitality, I think it will be small consolation to Captains fans...

Speaking as some one who has enjoyed this meal and Mount's hospitality in 2004 when my son's UMHB team went (and won ;)) at Mount Union, I can vouch personally for this.  My wife and I had a great meal and were heartily welcomed.  Check it out if you get the chance!!

CNU fans...which players should we be looking out for and their jersey numbers? Thanks!

Tongue in cheek response required when a 6-4 team has to go to Mount in Rd 1....

Will it really matter what the numbers are after CNU's first offensive series creates grass stains so thick you can't read them??

Ok. Sorry. I'll let real Captain's fans provide a legitimate answer now...

the cnu qb #13 is an effective runner - i think he started the year as the top rb - but he won't hurt you with his arm - they've got a wr who is quick, but doesn't have great hands and another who has great hands but isn't quick :) (if i remember from the broadcast, the kid with good hands was a all-american in the decathlon) - on defense the db's play way off and they aren't really big up front, but they seem to have solid speed

We have turf, so no grass stains--unless they forget to wash their uniforms this week.

Dang plastic grass ruining my perfectly bad joke...

Sure, lemme just lay out which weapons are most effective for us. Would you like a copy of our playbook and play calling tendencies as well?

How about we give you a copy of Mount's and maybe then your team can put a couple of points on the scoreboard on Saturday
