Are there any Averett folks still on here........if so what is the outlook for next year? I know you can't keep M. Dunlevy down very long. I hear they have plans for a new stadium.....wow anything would be an improvment...

Was saddend to hear the news of the death of Ferum football player Zavier Stringfellow. Murdered on Friday. Fairfax County police have made an arrest. Thoughts and prayers go out to blackhat nation. And the Stringfellow family.

Sad to hear the loss of life.

Awful news

With the new year, we can already look to the next season.

Who wins out on this ... interesting .. concept of playing all but one team with Huntingdon joining the fold? I know the prelim skeds indicate that Maryville and NC Wesleyan won't play each other this fall, which I think is to Wesleyan's advantage but depends  a lot on how big a leap NCW makes next season and if Huntingdon and LaGrange are as strong as they were this past year.

Who else is paired up to not play each other in 2013?

Just wondering where you guys are getting the schedules? I have not seen any posted. Why would'nt they just reduce the non conference games to 2, and everyone plays everyone in conference?

I was told that the majority voted to play seven conference games this season in order to honor existing non-conference contracts.

Mike Turk named Huntingdon's new Athletic Director. Will remain as Head Football Coach.

DG drove over from the ATL, to the press conference. He said it was nice, Coach Turk seemed to embrace the new role, the team looks good, and they are optimistic for next year.
I hope we have a good showing in the conference next season.

big surprise at mu...coach eavenson is stepping down as head coach and moving into a position within athletic administration focusing on athletic fundraising, among other things - he'll do a GREAT job in that capacity and might be even more valuable to the university in that position - cj goss steps in as head coach...he's ready and he'll do great things for mu

CNU85

CNU names Todd Brooks as new AD. I'm not happy about this at all. Jon Waters not only deserved the position, he earned it. He is the face of CNU athletics second only to CJ Woollum. He played on the basketball team as a student, was assistant coach for over 20 years, filled in as women's hoops coach for a year, successfully I add, was in the athletic administration, working up to the number 2 spot under CJ Woollum. At a time of transitioning to a new conference CNU needs stability. Many of CNU sports teams are nationally ranked. The system was developed by CJ and Jon Waters and the rest of the athletic department staff and coaches. I'm afraid this move may cause even more changes and some of them may not be all that great. I don't know Todd Brooks and I can't blame him for taking this position at CNU. It is a great move for him. I briefly looked at Berry College's athletic web site. The program has made some capital improvements but the information I see leaves many questions. The team performances do not impress me as a whole. He took over as interim women's basketball coach while he was AD. So what happened to the coach? Obviously, as a new Captain I wish Brooks much success. As far as I am concerned the jury is still out. And we will lose Jon Waters. He lives and breathes CNU, but he is ambitious and he will leave where he is not wanted. This is totally ridiculous. The ultimate definition of a travesty. Damn!
