Been out of the loop for some time, appears from what I am reading that CNU is the top pick this year. Can anyone tell me where Averett ended up? Are there any Averett folks on the board anymore?

CNU85

Unfortunately, AU was picked dead last. Looks like a long season is ahead.

Huntingdon had a scrimmage this morning for the returning players so I went to check it out. First year players were out for first year student community service projects and were to have separate scrimmage this afternoon. Still a lot of work to do but over all not too bad for the first week and third day in pads.
The coolest thing is that lights have been installed! I have thought that it would be cool to have some night games there and now we will be able to.

Go Hawks!

LaGrange will play Birmingham Southern, Christopher Newport, and Huntingdon all under the lights.

Which is good for LaGrange. Will video be available for any of the games?

Narch,

What is your take on Methodist 1st game this year?

CNU85

I see that CNU will be headed to LaGrange this year. I would like to hear from former players about a trip like that (660 miles....at least 10 hours in a bus....probably longer).

Does that take you out of Rhythm? Pretty much a lost day of practice, normalcy. How does the routine change? What do you do on a bus other than sleep? How are practices when you get to where you are going? Things like that? Then the ride back. Also, how does that affect classes? Just seems to me that a long trip like that just totally destroys the continuity of a normal week.

Pat Coleman

Wonder if they might fly instead. LaGrange is under 90 minutes from the Atlanta airport.

CNU flies to LaGrange...or at least their basketball team did last year.

Yes, we will be streaming all of our home games this year.

Too expensive for majority D3 programs to fly unless a person is willing to underwrite the expense.

Pat Coleman

It's a lot different to fly a football team.

I was told that they will be on a bus! And the hoops team last year flew because the game with Piedmont was cancelled and thus it became a weekend of only 1 game and they wanted to get back in time for the memorial for CJ Woollum. If I remember correctly.

I know the radio guys will probably fly down.

non football related....my classroom at CNU. I'm the first to teach in the trading room!! I have a couple of students on the team...so now it is football related! baha!!
