Who are the impact players for your team?

LaGrange College

Andre Carter - LB ('12 USA South Defensive Player of the Year)

Griffin Roelle - WR

AUgrad40

I'd love to say we have a ton of guys that will make an impact this season, but I think this will be a success by commity years for Averett.

I do know that they have a few 4-year starters on offense and defense back for this year.  The quarterback has a lot of experience.

Should be intersting to see how it all pans out, especially with all of the new teams that have joined the conference since I graduated.  Lagrange has a great program and I'd be willing to bet that they will be one of the perennial top choices to win the title every year.

I really wish that the conference had been expanded sooner.  I believe that the competition throughout the year will aid the USAC in gaining more respect nationally.
My most fond memories remain in Danville, VA.  AU!!!

on offense, vaughn cross and max reber, although i'm hearing jordan vann will have some packages at qb, as well...

on defense, navari holden is apparently healthy this year, and can make some plays at lb - i think bj minter is in for a big season on the line, as well

I cannot wait for Saturday, should be a fun season for LC football.
I guess that is a positive for LaGrange. However, as many already know, being one-dimensional doesn't really help you when the big game, it may help win a quarter or two. Nevertheless, I look forward in seeing the offense this year. LaGrange can definitely make a statement this weekend against a solid opponent.

(Updated to include 2013) Seventeenth annual Soup Bowl at Greensboro (Grimsley HS) this Saturday at 1 pm.  If past tradition holds, you get in for a nonperishable food donation to the local food bank.  Here are some numbers from the intracity rivalry:

Year*   GCQ   GCP   Winner
1997   46   7   Guilford
1998   7   27   Greensboro
1999   15   14   Guilford
2000   20   35   Greensboro
2001   14   15   Greensboro
2002   21   7   Guilford
2003   7   13   Greensboro
2004   7   28   Greensboro
2005   36   35   Guilford
2006   36   30  2OT   Guilford
2007   41   35   Guilford
2008   22   12   Guilford
2009   7   12   Greensboro
2010   15   17   Greensboro
2011   27   7   Guilford
2012   13   14   Greensboro
2013    31   28  Guilford

Total   365   336
Home Record   3-5   3-6
Away Record   6-3   5-3
Series Record   9   8

* Odd years at Greensboro, even years at Guilford.  Greensboro forfeited one of their wins, but I can't remember which - perhaps 2009, so there's a question of whether 9-8 or 10-7.

Four games decided by 1 point, one game by 2 points, one game by 3 points and one in 2OT with a 25-yard TD pass.  Ten games decided by a touchdown or less.  I've seen them all.

Is Ferrum that bad this year or has E&H really improved? Was not expecting that kind of score from that game.

max reber had a record setting day, going 27-37 for 398 yards and 4 tds - vaughn cross hauled in 11 of reber's passes for 109 yards and 3 td's - navahri holden led the defense with 8 tackles (7 solo) and a sack...mu wins 33-20 - nice start for the monarchs
