MC 35
MU 26

Another hard fought game in the series. A bunch of shoulda, woulda, coulda's for Maryville. Getting stopped inside the 1 is NOT MC Football. Only thing that irked me about the game. MU never stopped. They will make some noise in the conference this year.
watched the game on live stats throughout the afternoon... Looked like a good game...the MU fumble on a 19 yard run for a first down looked like a big blow to the monarchs...reber w 370+ yards and 0 TDs...hard to do...

I'll tell ya, narch, I'm not surprised at the way the game ended. Last year was pretty much down the wire 28-24; last time MU came to East Tennessee we needed the d3football.com play of the week (PI in the endzone, interception, fumble out the endzone, picked up for TD) for a 26-24 win; year before that a 17-14 MU win. The year before that (2009) was an MC 36-30 win.
Crunch the numbers and you have 2 evenly matched teams that have been duking it out for 5 straight years. That's what small college football is all about, in my opinion.

If I remember an ATN column from 2007 or so, it was conference record, head to head, and then coin toss. That may be wrong, or it may be right and have changed in the last six years, but that's what I remember.

Then I think that the USA South fans would want CNU to lose the coin toss.  (I am going on the assumption that Huntingdon loses to Wesley in DE and then both teams run the table in conference.)    ;)

CNU would get a Pool C bid and Huntingdon would get the Pool A.

You boys might be jumping the gun. Both still have Maryville on the schedule. ;D

But in reality, the schedule is not in MC's favor. At CNU in a few weeks and at Huntingdon week 10. Ouch.  CNU and Huntingdon are looking good for a run at the playoffs this year.

Not me. I was just answering the question. There is a long way to go but I think Huntingdon and CNU's schedule is favorable.

Murrvual... MURRVUL... the hawks got to go through.................... wait... iseems i do remember 2005... in the Hawks 3rd yr, they were 7-1, with the only loss to Trinity 15-10 (and Trinity that year went to the Stagg)...

We are going to the playoffs after only 3 yrs

we only got to beat Murrvul, who came to town ... and wrecked it  :(

Murrvul beat the Hawks 35-31..........................no playoffs

so, Hawk fans never ever dismiss Maryville College (who's O line Coach is my sons friend, and whos head coach recruited the boy (son) ;)

I'm not wishing the season go by faster than it is, but I can't wait for the game down in Alabama. It has the making to be one heck of a show.

of course if both go undeafeted and don't have a head-to-head game (they don't), that leaves just one option :)

i'm not sure if anything has changed with the addition of conference games and the fact that there is now an unbalanced schedule with each team not playing one other conference foe, but i think it may still come down to the toss of a coin...

The sentiment is mutual.  I enjoyed the series with HC, just wish we could win more of them.

Hope yall put on a great showing in Delaware.

@d3jason

Trinity went to the Stagg Bowl in 2002 I believe. Thought they were 9-0 in '05 I think with the Depauw cancel by hurricane.
