Let's see, I've seen college (all divisions) games at Guilford, Greensboro, Bridgewater, E&H, W&L, Ferrum, Averett, Methodist, Salisbury, Davidson, Mars Hill, Lenoir-Rhyne, Brevard, Elon, Catawba, Wingate, VMI, Appalachian State, Western Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke, NC State, UNC-CH, Clemson, South Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee.  As opponents, I've seen Illinois, Vanderbilt, Liberty, James Madison, Towson State, Chowan, Furman, Long Beach State, CW Post, Newberry, Presbyterian, Carson-Newman, NNA, Randolph-Macon, Hampden-Sydney, Catholic, Shenandoah, Southern Virginia, Wofford, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Georgia, East Carolina, UT-Chattanooga, Pittsburgh and probably many others I simply can't remember!
Oh yeah, forgot about a Stagg Bowl between UWW and Mt. Union.  Mt. Union had Pierre Garcon and won.

good reading.

I was at the UWW MT Union game when Pierre Garcon lost. He was the only guy I noticed who didn't line up after the game to shake hands. He pretended to look at his knee.

Hasa....if you include non d3 stuff....I have been to several UVA and Va Tech games. I've also been to 2 Orange Bowls. The best game I remember seeing in person was the Thursday night ESPN game when Matt Ryan and BC defeated Va Tech at the least minute, in the torrential downpour! Of course, in addition to the awesome play on the field, I think one reason it was the best ever was that I was dry with a bartender and a fireplace in a suite. ;D. I think I remember attending a Game in Columbia SC once.....too long ago!

CNU85, while in grad school, I saw every South Carolina home game in 1974 and 1975 ... Paul Dietzel coached the first and Jim Carlen took over the second.  I think the Gamecocks were 4- 7 the first season and 7-5 the second.  Since, I've been back to see them play Kentucky (a great game ... Tim Couch was QB for the Wildcats), Vanderbilt and Mississippi State (twice).   I also saw a memorable upset by Appalachian State in 1975!

Here is my list:

Apprentice, Averett, Bridgewater, Campbell (1aa non-scholarship), Chowan (now d2), CNU, Davidson (1aa non-scholarship), EHC, Ferrum, Frostburg, Greensboro, Guilford, HSC, Maryville, NCWC, RMC, Salisbury, Shenandoah, Southern Virginia, W&J, Wesley

this weekend i'll see lagrange in person for the first time - in all, 21 different teams (22 after this weekend), all non-scholarship or d3 at the time i saw them play (unless southern va gave scholarships at one time...i can't remember), and i've seen them all play at monarch stadium - in fact, the only road mu game i've ever attended was the mu/campbell game at campbell

there are only 7 teams that mu has ever played (6 after this weekend) that i've never seen in person...catholic, charleston southern, cumberland, gallaudet, jacksonville, lagrange and thomas more

if we want to include d1, i could name off many more...ecu, va tech, ncsu, unc, duke, wake forest, southern miss, wvu, stanford, ut-chatanooga, memphis, miami (miami vs. ecu at ncsu...best game i've ever seen in carter-finley) and i'm sure some others that i'm forgetting...primarily ecu opponents - i've made road trips to see games in blacksburg twice...once i watched ecu try a fake punt on 4th and long from inside their own 20 on the first possession of the game (gotta love steve logan) and the other time i nearly froze to death...literally...it was in the 60's in NC when we left and it was snowing in blacksburg for a 7 pm start the next day...i learned to check the weather forecast for my destination after that trip, because i was unprepared, to say the least - i've seen games at each of the triangle area stadiums (including duke...i actually love wallace-wade, but then, i love small college football and it's got that feel), i've been to ecu games in charlotte and i made a trip to the liberty bowl when ecu played stanford...pretty sure i made it to the game, but after a couple of days on beale street...well, let's just say that the trip to memphis was all a bit foggy...i've heard i had a great time, though :)

i've never been to a d2 game, though...and honestly, can't say i have the desire to do so :)

i'm setting over-under lines for the mu/lagrange game this weekend

points - 80
passing yards - 725
total yards - 1000

lagrange leads the league in passing yards/game at 395.5 while mu gives up 265.5 (6th worst)
mu is third in the league in passing yards/game at 293.3 while lagrange gives up 278.8 (7th worst)

lagrange scores 37.7 ppg (2nd) while mu allows 34.0 (5th)
mu scores scores 31.2 (4th) while lagrange allows 36.8 (7th)

lagrange is 4th in total ypg at 477.7 while mu allows 449.7 (5th)
mu is 2nd in total ypg at 480.8 while lagrange allows 48308 (9th)

these teams are mirrors in almost all areas except that the monarchs are a bit more balanced offensively rushing for 189.5 ypg (lagrange allows 205 ypg on the ground...good for 8th in the conference), while lagrange barely bothers to attempt to run at 82.2 ypg, last in the league

perhaps the monarchs can break out some of what they put on averett in the run game and keep the lagrange offense off the field (although, despite 412 yards rushing, au actually led mu in t.o.p by almost 7 minutes) - either way, it promises to be a fun game to watch if you like offense - here's hoping the monarchs don't make mr. craig look like kyle boden :)

You must be in East Tennessee looking over my shoulder. I was talking to my brother about the LC/MU game this weekend and I had the same numbers, but had 775 for passing yards.

This is going to be a crucial game for the entire conference. MU wins, then LC is now on the outside looking in.

So you attended ECU, huh narch?  Me and a good friend of mine went there in the late 90s for graduate school....I left when I realized I'd gone for the wrong reasons; you know, like having a good time and avoiding the real world.  I didn't like the idea of paying out of state tuition and not putting in the effort....

didn't attend...just had some years as a football vagabond, looking for a team to support - ecu had the best tailgate/game-day atmosphere with the hottest girls (don't judge, i was in my 20's...those things were important :)) and the underdog nature of the team made it easy to root for them - i haven't been to an ecu game in close to a decade, and honestly, i don't miss it...i still follow the pirates a bit, but i couldn't tell you their record w/o looking it up (i did watch part of the unc beat-down on tv 'cause i hate the heels...and it was on while i was waiting for and getting my hair cut) - give me a game in monarch stadium where my kids can roam free in the stadium w/o worries and i don't have to sit beside some drunken fool (not judging...i was probably one of them once) 8 days a week

This is why you find my family and I at BSC and Huntingdon games and not at Alabama, UAB or Auburn games. Although one of these days I keep saying I'm going to try out Samford.

Not to mention you can get up and walk around at mostly all D3 stadiums. Bigger football stadiums, like Neyland up the road, is packed most games with no wiggle room.
Plus, drunk frat boys might be worse than drunk parents. But I guess you could argue the early season plethora of sundresses makes up for the fratties.

I went to grad school at South Carolina and the frat boys were in party mode no later than 4 pm Friday on home game weekends - and most games don't kick-off until 7 pm Saturday early in the season!  Let me rephase that ... they were in party mode by 4 pm whether we had a home game or not.  lol
