Read ATR yesterday. It is always nice to read about your team/school. Adam does a great job of getting the story right. It gives credibility and on the weeks when he writes about other teams/schools I know he getting that right, as well. Thus, I enjoy the weekly stuff! Nice, Adam!

I read it too and agree with you wholeheartedly.  It helps put the game in its proper perspective.  Don't know if he always practiced what he preached, but this was Lou Holtz's stated priorities to his players:

Faith, Family, School, Football and Social Life

In the broader sense, your team and your coaches are your family.

Narch, thought you might find this interesting, but take it for what it's worth..

Compughterratings.com has the MU/LC game 44-43 LaGrange
AND
Atomicfootball.com has the game 37-36 LaGrange.

Can't get much more evenly matched than that, computer generated or not.

I need Methodist to win this one. Get LaGrange out of the picture and let Huntingdon and Maryville duke it out Week 11! (Knock on wood MC doesn't slip up on Ferrum or Greensboro.)

So would I. I don't want LaGrange breathing down our backs come Nov. 16th. We have enough to worry about in Montgomery!

43-41...monarchs - reber threw for 459 and 5 tds, ran for 63 and another td - the lc qb threw for 380...a little over 1000 total yds...over won all three bets:)

Thanks, MU. Back to controlling our own destiny. A whole lot of work still to do though. 590+ yards of offense for HC but still lots of issues on defense. Gotta take care of business against Averett then get ramped up for those two big ones at home to finish up.

Go Hawks!

I really think I'll be watching some fireworks come 11/16.

narch

today was a record setting day for max reber, and next week could see him set a number of season records, as well...

one more completion will set the season completion mark, 1 more td will set the season td mark and 33 more yards will set the season yardage mark

if reber happens to hit vaughn cross for a td, cross will own the season td mark (he already owns most career receiving marks)

DGPugh

i am hoping the Hawks can find a D, and still manage to light up folk for the next 3 weekends.

Each saturday is gonna be tough and must wins, but the 11/9/13 worries me, and the 11/16/13 is with one of our big rivals.

For the 11/16 game, Offensively, they will know each other (The Murrval head coach was the play caller and recievers coach at Huntingdon, and the OLine coach for Murrval was an outstanding 3 yr starter at Tackle and Cnter for the Hawks)...........but.... to your point.... yea might be some fireworks in Montgomery on 11/16
Still, got to take each week as it comes, and No body can ever look past Methodist

I've seen him play, narch.  I agree, he's special.  Congratulations on the win over LC.

the person who chose this week's nomination for usasac play of the week for mu had a difficult job...there were 4 or 5 really spectacular plays to choose from, and in my mind, the td to page might have been the 3rd best (but still really good)

i wish i could get my hands on film of the blake scott td catch (he was laid out and caught it parallel to the ground) or the radke td catch (finger-tip grab, then bowled over the safety en route to the end zone) - both of cross' td's were pretty special, too...on the 77 yarder, he took a slant at about 12 to 15 yards and just outran every lagrange defender and on the 13 yarder he went airborne between two defenders to stretch the ball across the goal line

here's hoping that the monarchs get more offensive firepower this weekend (and stopping somebody would be good, too...lagrange only punted once in the 2nd half) - i think the monarchs have a score to settle with gc - in my (admittedly biased) estimation, gc was not as good as mu last year, but came out of monarch stadium with a win - i hope every monarch player who was on the field last year recalls that feeling and uses it as motivation - the monarchs need EVERY game to have an outside shot at their first post-season, but a loss this weekend would mean that there is still some distance to go...the monarchs have won 8 of their last 10 games, but a loss this weekend makes that irrelevant

If Reber and Co. play like they have been over the past several weeks, you shouldn't have much to worry about. I sure am glad we had MU early in the season. Your boys had someone lit a fire under their tails.
With the way Greensboro's QB has been playing, both this year and several games last year, I wonder if he had other schools interested in him coming out of high school or if GC just wooed him first?

FootballScoop.com is reporting LaGrange has promoted Mumme to HBC this morning...
Apparently Mooney stepped down.
