If you've actually looked at those airfares to Portland Thanksgiving weekend, here's a little boost about McMinnville while you think of a way to bring that little unexpected NW vacation up to your wife so she'll think of going along with your idea....

I actually drove to McMinnville while visiting my sister in Salem, OR.  Got a good look at Linfield College and the aviation museum, which has the Spruce Goose.

Maryville is looking good...Go Scots!

nice run scots...sorry you couldn't bring a victory home for the conference

HSC85

Congratulations on a fine season Maryville. You played a good game today and competed well on both sides of the ball. Your school and your conference were well represented today.  Good luck as you prepare for next season. Everyone should be proud of the Scots. The game was an excellent example of what is special about D3 athletics.

Great game to watch this past Saturday. Could have gone either way. MC is good and should be better next year. Hope to see ya'll again next year. Have a great Thanksgiving. Ours got messed up having to travel to Oregon but I'm not complaining.
Should be interesting to experience Big Time D3 football close up. It will give us all a measuring stick as to where the ODAC/USASC stack up on the national stage. I'm afraid I already know the answer but might get surprised.

If our teams can find some defense, next year's top teams in the league might be scary. Not top 15 in d3 good, but good enough to win a dang playoff game.

It was a great game. I was talking with one of the grounds keepers during the middle part of the game and he was just surprised to see HSC playing such an evenly matched first round game. Can't complain about the match up or the game. It was exciting down to the wire. I just wish my Thanksgiving was out there, but you earned all 5000 miles of the trip.  You fellas be safe and have a great time out there.

And you're right..we'll see where the ODAC/USAC stack up against the top teams of D3. Hopefully we're not as far off as we all think, and if we are, we'll get a good idea of what's lacking.

Size, speed and numbers is what separates great teams from good teams, at any level.

True. Hopefully HSC can be the Northern Illinois of D3 this year. If your guys can somehow beat Linfield, it will ease the pain of Saturday's loss.

I think the Boise State (trickeration playbook) vs. Oregon (spread option) (2008) would be a better comparison.

I was going for recent D1 play with small schools playing for a BCS berth against the big boys, but you're right. Boise and Oregon are a better comparison.

Funny it's Oregon and Linfield's in Oregon..

Graham Craig is a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy. Congratulations to him, his family, and to LaGrange.
