After the fanfare they had when they brought in the new AD, I'd figure she'd be ready to get a head coach for the football team as quickly as possible and make a statement in her tenure quickly. I mean, come on now. Football programs can easily hold 5-10% of total enrollment at USAC schools, if not more.

Get it together, Averett.

Don't get on here as much as I use to....however I have spoken to some former players and some that are close to the school. Regardless of what has been said or hasn't been said, (mostly of what hasn't been said), there were issues from within and enough blame to go around the entire program and school admin. On a good note, they have got a new coach and those I have spoken with are hoping things will turn around and AU will become competitive once again. I will say this, I agree with what was said earlier on this board, Dunlevy was and is a class act and the players respected him. He made the difference for my son and I will always have admiration and respect for him. Lets hope some of the AU faithful will find their way back and support the program and hopefully the school can get it together soon.

Maryville top program in USA South again next season ?

I hope. Lost a couple key guys but I expect the younger guys to fill in nicely. This coaching staff can recruit. I see 5 of the 9 teams being contenders this year. MC has a fight on their hands

It will come down to LC and Maryville...LC is loaded on offense.  It just depends on how Coach Chambers does with the defense.

CNU is on the move again. After losing a great coach in Davis, who called the plays, we bring in a new coach with tremendous experience and a Champion. Looking forward to see what impact he will have. I'm confident there will be a huge positive impact.

85, how have you been. I tried to look u up at the CNU/Averett game this past year, however too many people and the place has gotten bigger. Sounds like CNU will have another power house this comming year. When are you guys gonna move up to another level and give everyone else a chance. LOL ;D

Hey Kickerdad! Doing well......moving up? hah!!! hopefully never!. Look me up after the 2015 season, our first in the power conference NJAC, and then ask about giving others a chance!. That conference is going to be insane!

Didn't know you were leaving the USA South.....should have guessed since the Girls Softball is playing in another conference now.

Here is the scoop. CNU moved this year in all sports to the CAC, except football. This explains the football move...

I just listened to an archived radio interview from a local sports radio station in Maryville with Coach Rader-- says 15 Texas kids are in this year's incoming class. 15? From Texas?

Guess some guys want to know what mountain life is all about.

15 kids from Texas. Interesting. Didn't know MC had a recruiting budget large enough to recruit that far away. Lots of money for flights. hotels, meals, etc. Sounds like the administration is really putting some $$$$ into the program, which is great. Hopefully we can play each other 3rd Saturday in Nov. again this year as I certainly enjoyed last years game. Very close, well played game; either team could have won.

Has anyone heard any thing about Mike Dunlevy. Has he gotten on with another team or has he retired from football altogether?

Scots13

I hope he lands/landed another job in football in some capacity. For a few months I had been checking FootballScoop every once in a while, but hadn't found anything. I think I'll look again.

I chatted with him briefly at the Stagg Bowl and he was definitely trying to remain in coaching. I think he was targeting D-II coordinator positions at the time.
