That Guilford blew out Greensboro, not too much of a shock. That it was a shutout is a surprise. Averett beating W&L? Definitely a shocker.

Does anyone know what's up with Throndset? I think he was 7-22 for less than 100 yards? ???

He had 70 yards ... Guilford was in the backfield often last night.

Yikes.

Let's see what Guilford's D can do against Reber & Co. this Saturday. It has all the makings of a great game.

Yeah, it does.  Another intrastate series that's gaining some momentum ... Guilford and Methodist have played every year since the Monarchs started football in the late '80s.  I spoke with GCQ Coach Rusiewicz briefly after the Soup Bowl ... he's well aware that MU will be a much tougher test.  I'm really glad the game's at Guilford this year.

I had noticed during the game yesterday the Huntingdon's 6'5 Sr WR Taylor Belsterling wasn't playing. Today I look at the roster and he isn't there any more. That's a big loss. Wondering what happened.

Woah. He has the size and the ability to make a game for HC. Coach Turk mentioned him during media day, so assume he was expecting him back..

LaGrange 34 BSC 28 in OT...go Panthers!

That's a big win for LC to start the year.

What's up with the new unis? Is it me, or is there no red?

The new uniforms are not in.  LaGrange College became an Under Armour school this season and the football jerseys which were specially made for LC are not ready.  UA sent these uniforms to us because of the delay.  We will have red in our uniforms this season when the new ones arrive.

I see. Well that's pretty cool they sent the school a set for the game. They were nice unis too...not scrubs.

Under Armour has been really good to LaGrange College.

But what if the players are superstitious?

Why change something during a win-streak?

narch, are you coming to Guilford Saturday night?  If you do, give me a heads up so I can say hello.  It should be a good, well-attended game.

Ah, been there, done that.  As my brothers and I ask, "Who schedules a wedding during football season?"

just looked over the box score from the game saturday with a little more scrutiny, and perhaps i was a bit harsh on the monarchs in my initial analysis...in the first half of that game, they ran 57 plays for 384 yards and were up 33-7 at half-time (with the only svu score a blocked punt returned for a td) - reber was 18-27 for 236 yards, 2 td's and 1 int at half-time

perhaps the game felt so "blah" because the second half was a bit "blah"...and maybe that was by design - 47 players got game action, the monarchs seemed very content to run the ball and milk the clock more than usual...the offense wasn't nearly as wide open - perhaps coach goss and staff said to themselves "let's not put too much on film for the quakers"...at least that's what i hope

i still think that there are a lot of little things the monarchs MUST do before the game this weekend if they plan to win...
