Great O from The Hawks today, but ... after Greensboro answered our quick score with one, our D finally showed up.

Good to see lots of folk. Great to see Hawks 88 and his bride.

Hawks win, Auburn is winning, and the bammers lost. ;D

I concur with this. Good solid win for the Hawks and a great day with the other games so far too. :)

Great to see you guys today.

HUGE game with CNU next week.

Go Hawks!

I just looked this up. At one point today we were called for offensive pass interference and were marked off the 15 yds but also charged a loss of downs. In NCAA there is no loss of downs so they were wrong on that.
I also thought they were wrong by having an un-timed down at the end of the third. I thought you only did that at the end of a half, not first or third quarter. But they just had an un-timed down at the end of the third in the AU-LSU game so I was wrong there.

The loss of down made no sense to me. Thanks for looking that up.
Still, solid win, and beginning to jel the D

Have a great week

High School rule is loss of down. Probably a guy who usually calls high school games and needs to learn the different rules. Wasn't a very well managed game by the officials either, taking too long calling and marking off penalties and generally not keeping the pace of the game going(high schoolish). Also didn't do a good job letting anyone know about the un-timed down at the end of the third. Our offense was on the sideline waiting for them to switch ends when he blew the ball ready for play and we had to burn a timeout. Hope we have a better crew next week. Too big of a game to have a crew like that one again.

Averett played a heck of a game, but as I said in a post several weeks ago, the thing about the Bishops that impresses me most is the guys never quit.    Go Bishops!
The only easy day was yesterday

21-19. That was ugly. But like coach said, "smile, you just won a college football game". I think maybe we were still tired from Methodist. I bet our D was having Reber-mares all week long. The Ferrum QB is a big strong kid and a baller.

Next week has me concerned. I know nothing about the Hawks. I wish I could make the trip down for the game, but that's not gonna happen.

Big road game coming up! Long trip!

I was at the game, and I am really happy with the direction Ferrum is going....I saw something I had never seen before in this game. 2 dead ball fouls against Ferrum after a CNU touchdown....both imposed on the kickoff. CNU kicked off from the Ferrum 35. The Captains do not need that kind of help. Ferrum's D has gotten much better, and they had 425 yards of offense, but should have had more than 19 points with that many yards. Silly mistakes, to put it mildly. Besides the two mentioned above, there was a sideline interference penalty on a CNU touchdown....Captains kicked from the 50 that time. A blocked xp, and a missed 2pt. try.

Maryville this weekend....ugh. This is a tough stretch, but Ferrum is better this week than last.
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!
