That semester would count.

cnu85, looks like a favorable draw for your team.  I saw Del Val last week and they are ok.  The offense is good with a bruising running back, but the QB struggled with his passes and hurt them.  The defense is ok, but can be moved on and your QB will be able to do things against them.  I think it will be a good game and you guys have a chance to win it.  Good luck this week.

I must say, wesleydad, going to Delaware Valley is a lot better than going to Wesley or Mount Union.  Now, that said, CNU will have to play extremely well to have a chance against DVC, but we'll see what happens....if CNU's defense was better, I'd feel more confident.

GO CAPS!

Appears CNU got a very favorable pairing for a 7-3 team. Good luck on Saturday and bring home the win.

Agreed, tfa....let's see if they can take advantage.

Scots13

Much better draw than last time CNU made the playoffs. If Morrast and Co. can keep playing well AND THE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAY LIKE THEY DID AGAINST MC  >:( we could see a second round game for the USA South.

hmm...somewhat favorable, maybe...very favorable, not so sure...

del valley is 9-1 and ranked #16 in the country by d3football.com - their only loss is on the road at 10-0 widener, who is ranked #11 nationally by d3football.com - in the last public regional rankings, del valley was ranked #1 in the east region - they were at least 2-1 vs. regionally ranked opponents - while i agree that it's somewhat favorable that cnu got what appears to be the #5 seed in their "region" (due primarily to geography), it isn't like they are hosting the #8 seed as the #7 seed or something like we've seen in the past - they've still got to go on the road and play a good team - i'm sure as a hsc fan, you feel like the tigers should be where cnu is...

Of the 2 loss or greater teams, only CNU and Franklin aren't playing undefeated teams. Of the 3 loss or greater teams, only CNU is playing a team outside the D3 Top 10. So yeah, CNU got the best draw of the teams that lost more than a playoff team should lose...

Whether that is "somewhat favorable" or "very favorable" is a matter of semantics.

personally, i think "very favorable" is a #7 seed getting to host a #8 seed, so if you frame it in this way, sending cnu on the road to the #16 team in the country doesn't seem nearly as favorable ;)

Actually I feel HSC got the pairing the absolutely deserve. This team under performed. Any team with a 7-3 record should be on the road to play a #1 or #2 seed. So no, I absolutely do not feel HSC should have received the CNU pairing; just saying at 7-3 CNU got the best pairing it could have gotten. I thought for sure CNU was heading to UMU, and probably should have.

Thanks man!! We will see what happens.....that's why they play the game! I'm hoping it is a competitive game and of course it would be nice to see CNU playing another week!

I was thinking MT Union or Wesley would be in the cards for CNU. But either way, once you get to the round of 32, every game is difficult....especially road games!

yep, I thought UMU for CNU so like I stated earlier, CNU got a very favorable pairing. That said, go up there and take advantage of it. We all know only 4 or 5 teams have a real chance to win the championship, teams ranked in the bottom half of the top 10 and down are good, but  beatable. Play your best and have fun !!!

We (in the MAC) really are kind of baffled by the pairing as well.  By all rights, CNU, should have travelled to Widener, and Del Val should have hosted Muhlenberg...assuming the bracket would stayed as it is...

Maybe it had something to do with recent history. When was the last time each teams have faced each other. I know Del Val recently played the Mules and Widener played CNU (or was the NC Wesleyan). Nevertheless, I don't think Del Val or Widener (if both teams win) should have played each other in the second round.

Pat and Keith pointed it out on the podcast..seems to be much of that in this year's field...
