Homecoming '15 went well for Maryville. A TON of support. Probably 2,000 stayed outside of the gate and max capacity inside to see MC's offense put up 70 on Ferrum. Defense could've played better in the first half. End of 2nd Q was 35-27 after a 47 yard TD with :06 to go for MC. Final was 70-37.

Great to finally get a conference win over LaGrange so that's not a thing anymore. It was a very frustrating first half being down 7-3 at halftime. We came out in the second half and pretty much just lined up and ran it down their throat. Good thing that we were able to run the ball so well because our passing game was non-existent. Their DB's were able to keep us covered up all night.
Time to get to work on turning around that 0-2 against Methodist.

I had to play farmer all day, got in and watched the last quarter on the computer. The parts i watched we looked pretty good.

Methodist has had our number, They won today, , they will / are good no way around it,

Just checking in on my old stomping grounds. Glad to see everyone is doing ok. Anybody miss me? bahaha....don't answer.

This new NJAC is brutal. 1-5 and our first losing season looms!! But is fun. The team is playing hard and trying to adjust to bigger, faster and better players.  We own the first half....second half not so much.

Usually when you own the first half but get beat in the second consistently you either lack the conditioning, lack the depth, or your coaches are being out coached with half time adjustments. It will be interesting to see what is the solution for CNU. I haven't watched any of CNU's games, so I have no idea.

Yeah...those are the normal things to look at....but so far everyone is at a loss. I would lean towards the depth issue and the fact that the competition is so good that they never give up and fight their way back in the game.  We have had the lead in every game. The most we were down at the half was 11 and that was to Wesley. We were up at the half in 3 of the 6 games. I just don't know for sure. And if the players and coaches knew, they would have fixed it by now. It will be interesting in the last 4 games to see how they respond. Playing in a conf w/3 top 25 teams is just downright brutal. This week we get a non ranked team....oh yeah...and they are 5-1.

I watched a little of the Rowan game. Thought they could've won and "big" one. Doesn't help you guys don't have Morrast or Rudolph any longer. Tough guys to lose and switch to the NJAC.

That game stills hurts. We didn't let Rowan on our side of the field until the 4th...ugh!!!

Well, nothing to complain about today with the 42-6 final. It was a kind of weird 1st half though. HC scored the first TD with 11:08 left in the 1st quarter. The next time our offense got on the field was with 11:02 left in the 2nd quarter. MU had an 8+ minute drive that ended with an Anthony White 100 yd pick-six followed by a 6+ minute drive that ended with a field goal. HC ended up with 6:35 time of possession in the 1st half but led 28-3 at the half.
Trip to Greensboro this week. Hopefully we will take care of business and not get caught looking ahead.
