Bishop64

Bishop Stadium is part of the Rocky Mount Sports Complex for the time being. The stadium seats a capacity 5000 to 7000. It was built originally for Rocky Mount High School. Two years ago a new high school
was built including,  a new on campus stadium, leaving the old stadium unoccupied.  Wesleyan entered into a contract  to use the stadium as its own until their new on campus stadium is built in about 3 to five years. I have seen the projected plans for the on campus stadium and is will be "first class".The city holds  the Elizabeth City Classic, pitting Elizabeth City State University and a fellow member of the CIAA Conference. The complex includes several Baseball and soccer fields which are well know for the tournaments held each year in both sports featuring teams from all over the state. The Stadium was renamed "Bishop stadium" this year so that the Bishops would have a temporary Home facility. It is located about 2 miles from the campus.

That's okay. You can probably find it in your heart to root for either one of them against ISIS!

Ralph Obi Wan
probably, a decision might call for a 2 outa 3 coin toss ;)

You, sir, are both a gentleman and a scholar.

Season records for the USASAC so far this year.
I saw that this morning as well. Terrible.

My post from a couple of weeks ago brought out the point that I have concerns about the low respect the USA-South has nationally and why we are in this position.  When my son played at Maryville in the mid-2000's the conference was very strong and talented with CNU, North Carolina Wesleyan, Shenandoah, Ferrum and Averett all very physical teams.  Methodist won the conference during that time.  Presently, CNU and Shenandoah are gone.  Ferrum, Averett and Methodist are only a shell of what they once were.  Maryville joined the conference and spent several years catching up talent-wise to become a #3/#4 solid program in the conference by the end of the decade.

In my opinion, Maryville has the only significant wins by any conference member during this season with a win over a good 5-2 E&H team and beating Berry who is 6-1.  However, they had an embarrassing 24-7 loss to NCW 24-7 who was 0-4 at the time and just barely beat a 1-5 Averett by only 5 points.  They are no longer receiving any votes in the national poll.   Huntingdon, like Maryville, is 6-1 with its only loss to a 4-4 Birmingham Southern team.  Their non-conference wins are over a 1-7 Belhaven and a 2-5 Louisiana College.

Unfortunately, the rest of the conference teams record speaks for itself.

From what I have seen watching my step-son play at LaGrange and finishing up last year, the talent level in the conference is significantly lower than it was 10 years ago throughout the conference.  I don't know if it's because of admissions changes in their schools, financial aid, etc., but there is a big difference.  Maybe, our conference needs to step out and play some of the northern schools and to improve the image of the USA-South on a national level. We need to go to Ohio and Pennsylvania to play some of these teams.  Our conference needs to take a deep look at ourselves and plot a better future for our conference.

Look, I know you dislike Coach Mumme for some perceived slight, but you need to grow up and be honest.  If you can't tell an improvement in the overall program at LaGrange since Coach Mumme took over then you are not paying attention.

LaGrange is 2-4.  Today would be a good day for LaGrange to prove me wrong that he has the program going in the right direction by beating Maryville today.

But he is doing better than his dad at Belhaven.  Belhaven is 1-7 this season.

Alabama boys: just saw the goal line stand by Greensboro. Hopefully your boy is ok. He can run the damn, that's for sure.

Yeah, I'm worried about that one. Especially since it was on a play that never should have happened seeing as how he was laying on top of an offensive lineman in the end-zone on the third down play. Not sure how that was spotted at the one foot line.

Good win......now... gots to get ready for Murrvul. The final score 'teeen them and lGrange wont matter, the records 'tween the 2 schools wont matter, I dont think there is a home field advantage.

It will be a good game. Huntingdon will have to show up with thier 'A' game to stay with the Scots.

Someone call Vegas and see what the opening line is. Hawks still have the upper hand although a lot of young Scots showed me in the fourth quarter they've grown up.
As Coach I told us one day, after week 7 there are no freshmen.

And Ferrum came back and beat MU after being down by 21..
