Not sure of the NCAA calculation but google says it's 489 miles to Hendrix.

Yeah. I checked TES. You can go to any of the three SAA schools I think are in contention. Berry, Centre, or Hendrix. W&L is too far. ETBU is 502 miles by TES (NCAA calculator) so you are spared that possibility. UMHB and H-SU are too far. Not many options. I think you and the SAA are going to have to face off, though the three SAA schools all have other possibilities. Hendrix can go to UMHB or ETBU I think, but not H-SU.

Trying to figure out where we might play each opponent and I'm thinking it might come down to the common opponents. If it's Berry I think they come to Montgomery since we both beat LaGrange and both lost to BSC but then we beat Maryville who they lost to. I'm pretty sure we would travel to either Hendrix or Centre as they both beat BSC who we lost to. But I could be wrong on the Berry match-up if our terrible SOS ends up taking more weight.

I feel the same way about my Generals. One more win!

One other possible opponent if Hendrix wins the SAA and Guilford were to get a Pool C. According to TES, Huntingdon to Guilford - 496 miles.

Yeah. There's a reason I wasn't including them. I hope it's a possibility, but reasonably? Not much.

Congrats to the Hawks for winning the USA-South Conference championship with a dominant 38-14 win over Maryville.  Went down to the game with my son, a Maryville grad, and saw an inspired, well-coached Huntingdon really controlling the game from start to finish.  Huntingdon's defense gave up some yards between the 20's, but the play-calling and turnovers in the red zone for the Scots really cost them the game.

Huntingdon really got better as the season progressed.  Their only close conference game was against N.C. Wesleyan in week #4.  The last 5 conference wins were really blowout victories.  On the other hand, except for Maryville's blowout win over Ferrum, the Scots barely beat Methodist, Averett and LaGrange.  All bottom conference teams.  The Scots really didn't get better as the season progressed.

Sitting in the stands, one of the big conversations among the Scots fans is how Maryville had just fired their V.P. for Admissions/Financial Aid and also fired their Financial Aid Director.  It seems that Maryville was giving out way too much in financial aid to their students.

Back to football, really the 2nd best team in the conference is N.C. Wesleyan.  The Battling Bishops have gotten better as the season developed and have won 4 of the last 5 conference games.

So congrats to Coach Turk and the Hawks.  Hope you find great success in the playoffs.

BTW, LaGrange is 2-6 and according to "Ben Stein Fan" is a much better program.......

Panther Guy, I think you are right.  The young freshmen really grew up as the season progressed. The Bishops will honor their seniors Saturday, a grand total of 6. Looking forward to next season. Congrats to the Hawks and good luck in the future.

I aint getting between you and Mr Stien's Friend, but from an uneducated observer... LaGrange was at the very least about the same when Coach Mooney was driving, and at the best much better with him. I was shocked they got rid of him. It was bizarre when all that happened. Lots of social media and news which was illogical. We live in Chambers Co, Al, which butts up to Troup Co (La Grange), Ga, so lots of rumors were heard.
LaGrange College is much closer to the farm than Huntingdon College, and that is where we wanted the boy (son) to go to school. The boy liked LaGrange Campus and the coaches, But he absolutely loved Huntingdon and Coach's Turk & Goodyear. The Boy graduated from HC in 2011 ;) so, this is all ancient history.

More importantly, the Hawks gotta play well against Averett tomorrow

Congratulations to the Hawks on their win over Averitt University.
I pray the Cougars will have safe travels back to Danville.

Hope the Hawks can maintain this momentum into the playoffs.

congrats to hc...good luck in the ncaa's...rep the conference well

long, tough season for mu - i can't remember a year off the top of my head when mu lost to averett, greensboro and ferrum in the same year - happy for the seniors to go out with a win...was hoping that jordan vann might get a chance to throw some passes in his last action in green & gold, but he did make a catch :)

I just want to welcome Huntingdon to the playoffs.
Much respect any school with 900 students standing at the forty with only a slingshot.

Huntingdon is in a football rich area and the school has devoted resources to the program. The coach is excellent, the facility is very good, the school community and fan support has the home side stands packed. It's even a good tailgate environment. To be honest, I'm slightly surprised it took them this long to crack the USASAC, but they do have significant travel issues to overcome in the conference.

As does their opponent. This is one of the more intriguing match ups in the first round.
