Greensboro only shows a 9-game schedule.  Is that it or are they still trying to find a game for one of the two open dates on 10-Sept and 24-Sept?  I think they played Bridgewater (VA) the 2nd week in 2015, but the Eagles have Thomas More lined up for 2016.
Greensboro added NNA on September 10 ... so a 10-game schedule.

It's about that time again.

Any insights from around the league going into the fall? MC loses some key players, but they have the right guys to step in. Specifically Nick Myers in at QB for Evan Pittenger (who is playing in Austria). Myers has the experience to lead the offense in the right direction. Full faith in the lefty. The line on both sides of the ball lose a couple big time performers as well as the secondary and LB corps. 5 of the top 10 tacklers from last year's team graduated. Trenton Shuler will be back after his battle with staph last year along with Whitlock, Chenier, and Rokins to build on the 2574 yards MC had on the ground last year.

Sleeper for 2016: NC Wesleyan. 5-5 in 2015, only 8 points away from 7-3 and 7-0 in conference play. Maryville was the only game their defense gave up less than 20 points. If they find a consistent D, then they have a play at the conference.

Outsider looking in here, but my projected conference records (for now, I will update my ratings when I can get my hands on returning starter data from Kickoff) are:

TeamWinsLosses
Huntingdon6.20.8

Maryville
5.31.7

NC Wesleyan
4.32.7

Methodist
3.93.1

Averett
2.34.7

LaGrange
2.34.7

Ferrum
2.14.9

Greensboro
1.55.5

NC Wesleyan seems like a good darkhorse pick to me.

Huntingdon picked #1 in USA-South pre-season coaches poll.

Looked like Huntingdon put on a good show yesterday. One of these days I'll make my way down there and walk around the non-football related parts of campus.

1, 2, 3 went as expected. Good news for MC this year is HC and NCWC are home games. Let's see if we can get the monkey off our back and finally beat Turk & Co.

MC's usual scrimmage with BSC has been cancelled and MC has picked up Virginia-Lynchburg for this Saturday. Don't know what's going on with MC and BSC, but good luck to BSC this year.

Don't know much about VUL other than they lost big to Wesley a few years back and they're a small HBCU in Lynchburg VA. I can't even find a 2016 schedule for them...

I remember some of the Wesley guys talking about their huge lines, but that they couldn't move at all. Now it was Wesley, so you always have to consider where they are coming from, but I think VUL is probably not very good.

I think you might be right on that.

My brother texted me and said "MC is scrimmaging Lynchburg, not BSC." I thought Lynchburg College might have done a good job at hiding a start up JV team. I was kinda excited for the ODAC-could've solved the '17 headache coming!

"@VULFootball : The conclusion of camp is today Dragons! Scrimmage against Maryville College(D3) tomorrow should be a breeze and a learning day. Let's go!"

Shots fired at D3 already this year?  ::)

I need help with this from an AD or SID perspective.

I did not think that there could be any formal press notification for scrimmages in D-3, but then VUL is NAIA.

I don't even think they are that. I went to NAIA's website and saw no mention of them. I've seen web articles mentioning USCAA, but their website has nada. VUL might be off the grid big-time. Hell, I've lived an hour from Lynchburg for the better part of two decades and this is the first time I've heard of VUL.

They were lumped in with the Colleges of Faith and University of Faith, among others, as non-countable by the NCAA last year because they didn't meet accreditation and/or membership qualifications. The teams that had scheduled these teams had to scramble to find real games to replace them as any stats for games played against them wouldn't count. I don't know if the list is updated this year.

Pat Coleman

The restriction on publicizing scrimmages in D-III was revoked. It's fair game now.
