The 3 returning Srs are LB Ty Martinez, RB James Cheatham, and K Will Edwards.

This post makes me sad, that these scumbags are prepping for a season and we are prepping our campus for sale.....   

Honestly, I'll be rooting you guys on, y'all had one of the best gameday atmospheres we went to.  Carry that D3 banner for the state.

The roster shows two guys as coming from BSC. One is a sophomore LB who didn't have any stats. The big one is JR DL Ricky Spence who was the third leading tackler and had 11 sacks. He had 12 tackles with 1.5 sacks and 3.5 TFL against us last year so apparently he was pretty well familiar with our backfield.

The LB listed from BSC is Michael Battle, he had actually played in 2023 for Millsaps, he was transferring to BSC, then we closed and he headed to Huntingdon.

Not very much positive for Huntingdon in this one besides the running game looking good for some stretches. We were just overall too inconsistent to sustain many drives but Berry had a lot to do with that. Defense also had times that they looked good but would have breakdowns and give up big plays but then #3 had a lot to do with that too. I'm sure some stuff will get cleaned up with the open date and we will be solid going forward.

Not a good start for the conference pretty much as usual with a 1-7 record and Maryville getting the only win.

Interesting development according to one of the local tv stations on their Wednesday bit on the local college teams, apparently Huntingdon starting QB Dorian Smith and backup Blake Smith are both out this week so freshman Jake White will be starting. If so this will be HC's first freshman starting QB since Zach Golson in 2004. He's a guy I've heard good things about so hopefully the running game will be effective and  the line will keep him protected so we can see what he can do.

Hawks take NC Wesleyan 49-28. Running game was solid with Garner over 100 and Williams with 94 and 2 TD each. Freshman QB White was solid before going out in the 3rd so we finished the game with 4th string QB Aiden Cox who was shaky at first made some plays late to stretch the lead.
Still too many big plays given up by the defense and had a stretch of the 3rd with too many penalties. Always good to get the win, though.
Another long trip to Hendrix next week.

The game is postponed as Brevard hasn't been able to travel due to the catastrophic conditions in the west NC, east Tenn mountains.

4 turnovers in the first six minutes of the third quarter put a big dent in our chances today but our defense stood tall to keep us in it and we still had chances. But after being on the field for pretty much the whole third quarter the defense ran out of steam at the end as Hendrix managed to drive down for the winning field goal as time expired, 31-28.

Back into conference play next week at home with Belhaven.

Yes , it was good to see you, DG. That was a pleasant surprise.
Solid win for the Hawks, though far from perfect. Still some breakdowns, big mistakes, and too many/bad penalties. Good to finally be on the positive side of the turnover battle.
I thought Dorian Smith, back from injury, had a really good game at QB. Did a good job taking what the defense was giving, not forcing anything or trying to do too much.
Timothy McReynolds had big day with kick returns. 3 kickoff returns for 211 yards with one TD(and another to the BU 8) and a punt return for 20 yards.

Need to take care of business with a long trip to Methodist up next.

Hawks went to Fayetteville and did what they needed to do. Got the lead early and the defense kept them controlled the whole way. Took care of business on the long trip and were able to get a lot of young guys on the field in the second half.
Now to see what we really have with two big ones coming up. At Maryville next week then home against Brevard.

We just didn't play well enough to overcome a very good Maryville team and some iffy officiating.
Need to get back on track against Brevard for homecoming next.
Surprised to see that Brevard lost to Lagrange yesterday.
