Ready Ready Monarchs!!!!!

Season is just around the corner. Narch, have you made it to see any practices? If the oline has a solid year, then so will the Monarchs!

Hey DD, you need to make it up for a game this year. Ill drag Foster with me. No excuses!

mc55ol - i haven't had a chance to get to any practices, although i did see 3 or 4 series of the scrimmage vs. fuma- i saw enough to know that the defense is going to be better - i love northern as a full-time starter...he's got a great motor and spent a ton of time in the opposition backfield when he was in the game last year - i've been a big fan of roberts upside all along, and it seems like he might finally put it all together...he looked dominant against fuma's huge o-line and he COULD be an all-conf type player - kyle smith starting at the other tackle is a bit surprising, but he's a big, athletic kid - the db's looked very fast and taller than i can remember in recent years - maybe we've got some guys that will be able to stop the fade around the goal-line - that was very frustrating to see the last few years - i like the lb's, especially hyslop and lawrence, who i think was a bit overlooked with jean-claude, hyslop and shaw last year...he could really step up as a soph and be a leader on and off the field - he's bright, athletic and has good size - i like his game a lot (and he's a white oak grad, right?)

the offense looked solid, but they didn't pull out the whole package...no option or spread and even a few plays out of the i, which surprised me somewhat...very vanilla - the o-line seemed to be getting good push against a very big d-line and i don't recall seeing any sacks - the concern that i have is how quickly the line gels and comes together...hopefully before saturday, but more importantly, before sept. 24

rocket getting some love in the pre-season poty poll...i hope that comes true!

GO MONARCHS!

It's good to hear that those guys are off to a pretty good start.  Yeah Lawrence is a white oak guy. He was a big time D1 prospect, but blew out his knee his senior yr of hs. He is just now getting back to 100%. He should do big things for MC.

inside methodist football webcast - coach sy talks about camp and ssu - some good stuff for monarch fans (and football fans in general)

where are all the cnu fans?  you guys are kinda quite since the players have all gone - good luck to the capts. this week - if the monarchs can pull the upset and cnu can finish off rowan, it would be 2 top 25 wins for the usasac - i'll have week one predictions on friday

Birdman, you know I'm gonna try.  For now looks like I may be heading down south.  I've got my name on the list to go down to NOLA and just waiting for the paperwork to clear.

DD,

I figured you would be on the first thing smoking heading that way. My prayers go out to those people.

Narch,

Most of those posters were current CNU players, so you know they will not be posting much. Lets hope for another season of big wins for the USASouth in non conf play!

It's starts again tomorrow.  I should have the pictures of the Catholic - Shenandoah game posted on Sunday.  I will try to get them up earlier if possible.

fayetteville observer monarch preview

mc55ol - i hope the trash on this board this summer didn't run some of the cnu fans who have posted in the past off...it's fun to see their enthusiasm...maybe someday it will be more than a few monarch fans holding down the fort on this board for mc (it would help if mc won a championship or two)

time_of_day

Been a year or two since I've posted....this board got kind of ridiculous.  I got pretty embarrassed with some of the CNU posters.

1 day to go.  Should be fun year.  I am up in Mass. now so not many USAC games for me this year.

Hopefully CNU gets the home playoff game over Thankgiving so I can get to a game this year.

mc55ol

Narch,

Your right about one thing, if MC won a championship or two, the people would be comming out of the wood works. Not that i would complain that much, because support helps build quality programs. I just wish that more Fayetteville area people would come and support the team.  One thing that did suprise me about playing for the Guard this year was how many people would come up to me and mention something about MC, but i cant recall ever seeing them at any games.

footballjoe

how is the injury bug at the monarchs.  how many walking wounded do they have and are there any serious injuries?

Swish3

CNU gets it done this year against Rowan....34-31!

Good luck to all the other USAC teams playing tomorrow!

GO CAPS!

wesley 38 - ferrum 17 - wolverines should be pretty good this season, too much offense for young and improving panthers

ncwc 24 - nna 16 - bishops get a "w" in week one against the builders

m'ville 31 - averett 28 (ot) - just a hunch that m'ville will be better than most usasac folks think and they get usasac win #1 out of the way in week 1

cnu 31 - rowan 30 - this is a pick-'em game to me...cnu gets redemption with a last second fg to win by one at home

ssu 38 - mc 31 - as much as i'd LIKE to see a monarch "w" in week one, and as much as i know it's possible, i think there will be too much d. johnson for the monarch defense to handle

GO MONARCHS!

Narch:

I agree with your predictions except for two of them.  I think TCNJ will narrowly defeat CNU and Wesley plays at DePauw, in Greencastle, IN.
