Is Ferrum the real deal this year?! I suppose that no one will know for sure until Sept. 24 rolls around, but wow, they've sure shredded their first two teams of season.

I know that Guilford isn't much to boast about, but E&H certainly has never been bottom of the barrel. Nice game Ferrum! Keep up the streak.

Not sure what to say about the CNU/Maryville game today. Other than the first quarter took almost an hour and 26 points later to complete. Not much offense as far as numbers are concerned.  Defense stepped it up today only giving up around 70 yards or so. Good to know the last two weeks evened out.  Huge game this coming weekend against Salisbury. Need the complete package for the Gulls.

  Ha Ha Ha. What a difference a week makes. Last week SU beat some scrubs 12-0 nothing and they were all giggdy giggdy. This week they played a very suspect Bwater team(compared to the ones in recent years) and they got smacked around. What was the final tally on the capacity crowd for this years Bwater loss. HA HA. O yeah the Captains welcomed Maryville to the USA South but you dont see to many Captains on here bragging. No offense Maryville but they are not that talented. Beat another good team besides CNU and then you will get the respect you think you deserve. But until then  Ha Ha.

Box score only reads 4910. What happed to the 7500?? Not trying to be catty or anything, but several people said that you were expecting a larger crowd then last year's game, just curious.

With a combination of no tackling defense, costly turnovers and stupid penalties from SU It equals a huge butt kicking. No excuses for SU. They got out played. Here are some quotes from the radio (95.3 FM) that sum's it up for the Hornets play. And these are the nice things they were saying by the way; 1."The offense line is not firing off the line of scrimmage at all. The coach needs to take out each and every player on the field and put in some others that have some hart because the guys that are out their right now have given up "2. "The defense is just standing on the field and they are not even trying to tackle" 3. "Each year SU likes to measure themselves on how far they have come against BC. This year they don't belong on the same field as BC." 4. "I have seen better tackling in a flag football game." I agree with those quotes 100%. But the one that is the most important is about the play at the end of the game. BC killed SU. No question about it. But they had the ball for the final play of the game and instead of taking a kneel to end the game they run off a play to run up the score. That is uncalled for. Everyone around me in the stands were upset and when I got in my car I heard how upset the guys were on the radio also. Here is what they said on this. " Its like rubbing salt in the wound on the Hornets. It shows what a piece of trash the BC coach is for doing that and one day some where its going to come back on BC. Maybe it wont be SU that will do it to them but that is un called for and one day some team is going to do it to them. " The head coach from BC is trash for doing that. These are college students NOT PROFESSIONALS. They had no reason for doing that. I don't fault the BC players for this. They are just running the play that was called. Its the head coach that did that all the way. One day as long as Barnes is the head coach, SU is going to remember this and it wont be pretty.  They had the game won by a long shot. Purely a trash move on the BC side. Good luck to the Hornets next week. I hope they can get things back on track after this week. As for the attendance of 4,910 I cant believe it. The place was just as packed as last year. Fans were standing all along the fence. I have no idea how that # came into existence. Everyone including the Winchester Star was thinking the crowd was going to be just as big and maybe even bigger. I think the Student that was in charge or counting the tickets had to had given up because the place was packed.

Narch, being a whiner and telling it like it was on the field are two different things. The radio crew was not making any excuse for the BC butt kicking. Simply saying that the facts are that the Hornets did not show up to play on the same level that BC was on. I'm glad they are not the GO,GO homers so many radio station are.
