Three Sails

Congrats to Mike Thomas on conference offensive player of the week.  Gotta love young players like him, O'Brian (TD catch vs. Rowan), Remarcus Baylor and Kyle Morgan stepping up.

As Goose, Swish and CNU Fan have noted, O-line performance will likely determine how successful the Captains are on Saturday.

CNU added some extra seating in one endzone - over 5,000 attendance last week.  Should be another good crowd for Salisbury.

Any injury updates on Arroyo, Thorton and Philip Jones?

JT

I'd be surprised in CNU had any significant troubles with Salisbury.

Interesting, I was thinking the exact opposite.

The bottom line is that CNU has a lot of growing up to do on the D and O lines. I think while the first two games of the season give no one a real grasp of how good or bad CNU is. I do feel however that the two games served a major purpose in the development of the team. Against Rowan the young guys saw how hard they have to work to get where the elite teams in D3 are. Against Maryville it gave them a little boost to actually compare the difference between a good team and a not so good one. It also gave them a little confidence because winning can get contagious.

On another note the skill players like Nate, G. Jones, Kurfew, Hudson,  and Phillip, need to carry the offense in a big way and put points on the board like last Saturday. Their are no more excuses with that much talent in those areas you should easliy score 28 a game. Okay Fat Cliff, Jake, big back Tommy Fitz, and boney Pat are gone and none of the olinemen besides Arroyo got any significant time last year so it will be a major growing process for the new guys. So you can't expect much from the running backs until the new fat boys grow up and gel.

On the defensive side Kareem, Wood, (doing their part 19 and 12 tackles respectively in the Rowan game.  And with Freeman essentially getting two games off , he should be hungry to get to the ball saturday. J LO and Rob need to raise their level of play( in case you didn't know Horn is gone, so both of you will have to take the leadership role in the secondary to bring along the new DBs. As of right now now no one knows the names of the D ends for CNU in the USA south right now. Similar to  01 when no one knew about CNU or of the impact the D ends would eventually have on the program. But I will tell you that a few of them are as talented and will eventually make Captain fans as well as conference coaches forget the likes of Veney, Chandler, Vincent, and Holmes. As far as the interior tackles , they have a few kids with some raw talent who will only continue to get better with time. But for the right now, keep getting fat and keep peple off of the LB's and let them do what they do best.

Salisbury is coming to town with revenge on their mind. Lets make sure they leave Pomoco with the same thought.

Uncle Jessica you sure do worry a lot about what CNU is doing in our spare time. Besides when someone brings up why we keep blowing it agianst you scrubs, when do you ever see any CNU fan type anything about the ladies of Winchester. Lets see 4 yrs 4 conference titles, 4 consecutive apperancess in the NCAA playoffs, 2 playoff victories, 2 top 25 finishes, 2 wins against Bridgewater, and much respect from the D3 world because of our accomplishments on the field in such a short time. Just say it, your jealous because NO MATTER WHAT YOU OR YOUR GIRLS FROM SU DO YOU WILL NEVER BE, OR BECOME MORE SUCCESFUL THAN THE BOYS FROM CCCCCCCCCCCNNNNNNNNNNNNNUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

On a side note what I do think you should be doing in your spare time is going back and looking at tape on why your boys got pimped slapped by Bwater.  :D :D :D you guys where really crying about Bwater 3 and 4 string boys running the score up on you. Personally I would have keep that kind of embarrassment in house, you feel me :o.
No matter what you say just look at how pathetic you are. Before you posted anything about your game with Randolph Macon this week you took time to look at who we play and what you think or hope we will do. Oh yeah thats right, like I stated long, long  ago during summer . CNU games are in the spotlight for games to watch and other people worry about them(people like YOU) because of the impact it may have on the playoff picture and seeding. You think anyone was really worried about seeding or playoffs when you played Bridgewater. Worry about the ODAC this weekend before RMC puts some more salt in your wounds.

I feel you dawg. I feel you all the way in Colorado. Hell the Buffs feel you. I think everyone gets you "wide screen" God you are busting hard. If CNU gets to play some real "Bit%$ made punks" they might score 100.  Why the hostility. You always get those 1st year posters talking smack.  They usually leave after a good punking on the field.

Remember dawg I love ya

Speaking of love is that MC55 sitting in the dark right now with the remote watching that streak of all black trying to figure out how to stop that 6'2" 210lb 4.4 40 QB (signed with Bunting's boys in Chapel Hill already) Dem Rams going to bring some hat.  ;)

MC55 you are the best job in the world. High school football coach. Enjoy it

blackhats - i'm with you on the importance of pitts...he is ALMOST as good as johnson from ssu running the option...very dangerous and ferrum IS a different team with him running the show - i'm sure you will be interested to see how cnu defends the option this week as a bit of a preview of the fc/cnu game - i had written ferrum off early, not remembering that pitts had missed so much time last season

finest - people like me and others evaluate cnu because they are the favorites every year in this conference...seeing chinks in the armor (allowing 600+ yards vs. rowan, a sub-par offensive performance vs. m'ville) gives us all hope that our team might unseat the mighty captains

three sails - i think you meant congrats to thomas on offensive ROOKIE of the week...mike hill from mc was usasac offensive player of the week for his 181 yard, 2 td performance vs. guilford

Pat,

I dunno.  My reasoning my be faulty but I saw CNU and thought they were pretty good with all those new faces now in the starting lineup. Also Cortland didn't have too much trouble with Brockport winning 20-10.  Meanwhile Salisbury played a tight one with Brockport last week.  I know Salisbury had a great second half last week, but as long as the time of possession isn't too lopsided, I like CNU's chances this w/e.  Especially if the Captains play as hard as they did against Rowan

Llamaguy

Turnovers will seal Salisbury's fate again just like the playoff game with CNU last year. 7 TO's, 4 fumbles, and 3 ints.

Salisbury has already fumbled 7 times in its first 2 games this year!

Abngr,
Reading your post brought a tear to my eye.

Is Mc55 playing Havelock?

This hurricane coming up the coast could effect the SU CNU game option wise...Somone said something about comparable scores to courtland and brockporte state but those scores are out of the window if you dont shut down the option...Its all about matchups, whether your team can stop the option etc...Anyways I would go with Salisbury vs Cnu.  Senior qb with a headache of talent.  I still have nightmares about that kid and echoe force on the option...I have the pitch ok, they wont let me hit the qb ok???Im still out of my mind..ok...

Roll Pride

Pat Coleman

Turnovers have definitely been a problem for Salisbury in this offense. However, I don't think they'll be taking a 10-hour bus trip this weekend, so they should come out of the gate a little better against CNU.
