Whatever...you have no reading comprehension skills.  I'm not trying to bring down your site.  I'm just letting you know of your (conscious or unconscious) flaws in the analysis of the operations of football.  Don't be so harsh on my school (essentially calling them chicken because they play Chowan and dropped Wesley), and I won't be so defensive.  If you are going to throw punches you had better be ready for me to put my hands up at some point too.  Suck it up and don't be such a baby.

Just so you know, I am not an expert on public waste.  However, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I know that the things that you are spitting out on here are biased and flawed.  Stick to the things that you know...statistics---not football.

moshergc9

Blackhats made some valid points.

What's wrong with the media is them having the courtesy to give you this free forum for you to bash them on? Not sure that came out right but you know what I mean. Yeah, moshergc9, he makes some valid points but he's not 100 percent right either. I don't remember reading anyone saying Ferrum was chicken for scheduling Chowan, just that Chowan wasn't a full D2 school.

And I don't think that was even Pat Coleman who said that, blackhats. That's one of your fellow Ferrum fans.

47 posts? Junior varsity? Man ... I got blown up in the changeover.

Ya'll are getting all worked up over nothing.  But that is nothing new on here.  Pat, everybody appreciates the forrum.  Ya'll do a great job.

This reminds me of a sunday school story where you can take the easy path and pick on the rural panthers or take the harder path that leads to righteousness.

I never really like Ferrum or any other school that I played against.  They do have a solid tradition though.  I remember when my brother was playing hs ball and chowan and ferrum were on his juco list.  They were both solid juco programs.  My point is even though I never liked them, I respect them because they played hard.

My team this year really needs to pull it together.  Football is a sport that requires you to dig deep, and my brothers and friends in Greensboro need dig themselves out of a hole right now.  It's easy to point fingers when your not doing well, the real men in the pack in Gboro will work harder everyday to get themselves out of this debacle.

Thanks Mosher.  I don't intend to create hostility, but I am proud to defend the guys who deserve respect.  It is not appropriate for the moderator of this discussion board to find bias in anything that he reports.  He should spend more time moderating and less time picking on the little guys.  I guess if we moved our school up I-81 just south of Harrisonburg, then maybe we would garner more respect.   Anything further south than that makes you Rodney Dangerfield.

You would get more respect if you would quit carping about some supposed bias and focused on other things.  Just because you think something is biased doesn't make it so.  It's obvious to any outside observer which of the two of you is biased, and it ain't Pat.

Winning some playoff games will get you respect.    Until then, Ferrum's just another decent squad which has yet to defeat anyone of consequence.

Back from Texas. Missed all the goings on.

I see the GC-Q got the GC guys. Finally.

As I said in the beginning of the year HSC cannot get that BC monkey off their back.

I played against Hank Norton's boys in the 70's when I was at Lees-McRae. They (Ferrum) were the hardest hitting and most brutal games I ever played in....ever. No mercy asked or given. I did get pretty hard against Tennessee's JV's one year. Maybe that's what's wrong with me.

Narch-Your boys may just bad dudes after all. I
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

mc55ol

Narch-what do you think of the guys so far?

Ferrum fans dont get to upset about the lack of respect you feel that you are getting.  You have to beat ranked teams to get respect, thats just how it is. Good luck to you guys, untill you play MC of course.

moshergc9

Abngr,
Welcome back...Did you get a chance to fix everything that was broke down the coast?

I guess we both missed the hurricane of a game played last weekend.  Dissapointed to see the picture of the tree huggers carrying away the soup bowl.  The spoil goes to the victors.

Hey Pat, I had seen over on the ODAC page that CUA wants to install SprinTurf. I remember a few years ago SU wanted to install something like that but I haven't heard anything for a while. Have you heard anything about this? Thanks

I say it one more time...we don't care about the respect factor...it's the disrespect factor that chafes my hind parts.  We haven't done anything to deserve either.

cnusfinest54

Okay this whole thing has gone on for to long. As far as I have read I don't think anyone on this board has said anything to disrespect Ferrum. If memory serves me right I think all of this came about when Ferrum poster where wondering why they were receiving no love after going 5-0. Lets see they are ranked above CNU in the polls and Pat and company put a picture of the Panthers on the cover of D3. So I don't know who is disrepspecting Ferrum but if someone is I can't see it. What I have learned from playing at CNU is respect is won on the field. We won our conference in our first year and when we went to the playoffs we thought we were HOT SH#t and we thought that we would make Widener pay for not taking us serious. Bottom line is Widener had every right to not take us serious because when game time rolled aroung they really showed us that our record was a direct result of play very average teams. What I think is most funny about this argument is before the season really kicked off you never really heard anything at all from a Ferrum poster. Not trying to offend you Blackhat but it is amazing how 5 wins against some very below average teams will make Ferrum poster really think that they are back to the good old days of the late 80's and 90's. Bottom line is if your team keeps winning then they will get there shot at gaining national respect. But just ask Salisbury that shot also has its disadvantages as well.  Going undefeated against cupcakes in the regular season and then playing a good team in the post season will result in a " I told you so from the D 3 experts" after the first week. The best team on Ferrum's schedule this year is CNU and as our two losses showed us we have to come a long way before the end of the season to beat playoff caliber teams.

blackhats

I was not the Ferrum poster who started this respect in the rankings thing.  Ferrum doesn't deserve anything at this point, because honestly they are not THAT good...however, neither is Bridgewater or Hampden Sydney but they seem to get all the love they need.  The ODAC is vastly overrated from top to bottom, and this scheduling concept is quite similar to that of every other team in the Top 25...especially Bridgewater.

I just take exception to someone trying to justify to me that Ferrum is weak because Ferrum didn't do something right in scheduling (i.e. dropping Wesley).  There are 9 division 3 schools on Ferrum's schedule...quite comparable to the rest of the teams in the nation.

Ferrum is 5-0, so what?  But don't tear us down by claiming that we softened the schedule.  Decisions were made for financial reasons and 5-0 is 5-0.  Ferrum isn't scared of Wesley...they haven't stopped the zone option in four years!!!!

Who knows 5 wins may be the pinnacle, but what happens if 9-0 comes to pass...will it still be our soft schedule?
