blackhats/allen c - you guys were looking for a little respect earlier in the year....here it is! - ferrum is ranked #2 in the south region...pretty heady stuff, especially considering opponents winning percentages:

ferrum is 6-0 vs. competition that is 13-29 (31%)
thiel is 7-0 vs. competition that is 25-27 (48%) and has a victory over another regionally ranked team (w&j)
hopkins is 7 - 0 vs. competition that is 18-41 (37%)

this shows a tremendous amount of respect for the ferrum program AND the usasac, in my opinion - i thought for sure thiel and jhu would be ranked ahead of ferrum - congrats to the panthers!

fightin hawk - that's great info. - i won't be able to get to the game, but if you go, i'd really appreciate your appraisal after the game - if the m'ville defense lacks speed, it could be a LONG game for them - that is one of the things the monarchs have in abundance...roncketti, hill, mcswain, sands, mularski, howard, doleman, robinson...those guys can all motor - the monarch defense could struggle again, though - the mc dl is small (starters go 238, 248, 224) and quick...they seem to struggle against teams with big, physical o-lines - is there a webcast of the game? i know there was a christian am station that carried the mc/m'ville hoops game last year...will they be webcasting the fb game?  thanks again for your info.!

If you go to the Mville football website, they have a link at the bottom of the page that will allow you to listen to the game.  The announcers are kinda cheesy (and VERY biased), so be warned..lol.

This board has gotten a little quiet since me and you know who stopped fighting and since the Captains seem to have gotten a tiny tiny chink in our armour.  Sorry there (did I get it right that time Narch) is no way I am jumping ship. Imma stick with my boys until the Titanic can't float no more. With all this talk about Ferrum (not hating) and not much talk about CNU, it should really humble the Capts. Captain fans and players remember the days when everyone said nothing but bad things about us. Now we even have Gboro posters giving us praise (not that I mind). Come on Captains I think I liked it a lot more when other posters hated us because that meant that we where dominating good teams and winning important games. Lets get things going and get that swagger back. Take it one game at a time and crush the Bishops.

  sorry abnrgr, you guys will find yourself in a 3-way, and hope to get an at large bid because you guys beat CNU.  You guys don't play any tough opponents.  CNU biggest games are going always be non-conference and post season play teams.

I thank CNU for helping put USA Conf on the map.  The captains have dominated for a long time.  It is especially good since they are such a new team.  It helps to be located in downtown football central.  You , SU an BC have  helped to raise the level of play of the whole state.  Thankyou, but I still hope we beat you on Nov 12th.  Good Luck!

insideslant/d - guilford has played ferrum, greensboro and methodist...while they aren't chowan, rowan and salisbury, the 3 do have a combined 13 wins and 8 losses...but i don't recall guilford playing cnu, and i don't think guilford has a legit shot at the odac title

in case you didn't realize, abnrgr's son was a 4-year starter and all-odac performer at guilford and while mc is his usasac team, he's still a quacker

 Yea swish3, I agree that is some aggressive scheduling by CNU, lets hope that the head coaching staff realizes that they need help from the  Off. cooridnators from up in the box. By doing so we can remain in the top 25 all year by winning against our always toughest opponents. Go Captains!

predictions:

su 24 - au 22 - su will rally the troops and play with some pride

cnu 38 - ncwc 13 - the capts are a little ticked off after losing to a nc school for the first time...they take it out on the bishops

gc 41 - fc 40 - this is as much wishful thinking as anything, but ferrum's weakness is pass defense and gc chunks the ball around A LOT...roberson has been making much better decisions the last few weeks and gc is a dangerous offensive team right now

mc 29 - m'ville 21 - the monarchs play a little sloppy in the first half after a long bus ride and a big win last week - they come back in the second half after trailing 14 - 7 and win going away - this game is MOST IMPORTANT for the monarchs...i hope my prediction is wrong and they come out firing on all 12 cylinders both offensively and defensively and blow m'ville out...i just don't think it will happen - this team loves the drama
