Don't feel so confident Wrighthall. Ferrum looks like a beast. A lot of people have underestimated Ferrum all year (me included). I would be converned if Ferrum plays BC.

tcheadhunter,

I'm actually so CONCERNED that I'm not "converned" at all.. :) If you can't read the sarcasm in my post I'm sorry but it's there... it will be interesting to see how Ferrum performs against some real opponents, just as it will be interesting to see how BC performs against a good team.   However, it's never to early to start talking trash and I'll stand by my Eagles as the playoffs approach and we get ready to knock off yet another USUC Champion!  ;D

Allen C

Ferrum cannot worry abot playoffs yet. Its great to be in, but focus needs to remain on CNU. You can believe they will come in trying to make a statement.

10-0 is the goal...after that they can concentrate on their playoff opponent.

congrats panthers...way to dominate...rep the usasac well - i wasn't a believer most of the season, but the panthers have really erased some of the disbelief - i'm still bitter that hill was a no-go against fc, because i believe if he plays, the monarchs win that game, but if's and but's get you nothing and fc has the crown!  win a couple of playoff games for the usasac, boys!

mc wins 45-21...no stats, but the o got it going

monarchs...take care of business next week, finish 8-2, and root for some huge upsets next week and MAYBE there is an outside shot (ok, that's extreme wishful thinking, but you gotta have hope)!

Allen C

Did'nt the USAC have two teams in the playoffs last year? Why not this year?  Is this a strength of schedule issue?
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

Ron Boerger

No, it's a strength of conference issue.  Only Methodist has as few as two losses and there aren't going to be any 2-loss teams getting pool C bids.

Three Sails

Congrats to Averett on their victory - the Cougars have come a LONG way in the last few years and now have a solid program.  Almost pulled an upset two years ago in Danville and got the job done today.

And best of luck to Ferrum (after next week that is ;D).  Sounds like the Panthers have quite the offense.  For you Panther fans - did anyone see this season coming?  Overall - what's the reason for the big improvement this year?

So much for preseason predictions - Shenandoah seems to have imploded and the Captains have come back to the field.  Hopefully Ferrum can improve the USAC's record in the NCAA's.

Pat Coleman

Last year CNU got in with two losses but only one regional loss. Two regional losses is likely to be a no-go this year, but if anyone does go from the two-loss group it would be someone like Capital from the OAC.

Good to see that the cards in the conf are switching hands...Poker...football, really what is the diff?   I made it to a football game at nc wes today, too bad it was soccer....I saw the nc wes kids going to the training facility (post ferrum), and the only time i ever saw that much ice was for kegs...God, we need another win in gboro...!.

Tough year for the Pride!
Get the last one...

no chance the monarchs get in, especially after seeing some results from today - mc doesn't have a win like a team such as hsc got today over jhu, and hsc will be sitting home, as well - the boys gave it everything they had, but just didn't get the help they needed since they came up just short at ferrum - i'd REALLY like to see ferrum go deep...maybe win 2 games, but i'm not sure how probable that is - i'd also like cnu to beat ferrum next week so the monarchs could say they were co-champions (hey...others have done it, why not the monarchs :)) BUT the best chance for fc to win a couple of playoff games is for them to host, and they won't do that with a loss to cnu next week...i'm conflicted, but ultimately my allegiance to mc trumps my allegiance to the usasac, so...go captains! (for one last week)

game story - lots of records broken by rocket today - he had a great day on the ground and set the career rushing td mark at mc with 3 today, in addition to setting a number of single season passing records - hill had his most productive day in a while with 87 yards on 12 carries - overall, nice performance, but the captains and bishops let me down today :)

Congratulations to Ferrum on the USASAC championship.  Also, a nice win today for AU - their progam has made great strides.  MC, you're having a fine season too, 8-2 would be a great finish.

Three sails...

I cannot say I saw this coming, but I also thought that the 5th place prediction was a little bogus. FC had a pretty solid group last year, and would have shown alot better with some luck in the OT games.

The thing that gave me hope for this season was the fact that they lost so few to graduation. I was expecting third place, and was hoping for second. This has been a great ride, and I hope that the Panthers will keep it going.

I will be at the FC/CNU game. I will be the one with no voice by the end of the first quarter.

The good news is that the Panthers only lose 9 to graduation this year. The bad news is that two of them are Mumford, and Hamoy. (RB's) Pitts is back, and I look for Ferrum to be in a good position to defend their title.

Slightly more so than the Maryville-in-last prediction.

First things first - Congrats to Ferrum....after next week, I'll pull for you guys the entire way!!

Second - congrats to Averrett - I went to the gamein Danville 2 years ago - and I thought they were a better team tha their record back then...Now, if the coaches and kids can get pumped up EVERY game, like they did against CNU - wow.

The conference is now stronger top to bottom (a previous poster said something about CNU and SU falling) - CNU has slipped, SU fell off of a cliff, and the rest of the conference has picked it up. Maybe that's what people had in mind when CNU put a team on the field!!

I'll wear blue next week, then I'll find a black hat!!
