Hasanova,

I played at North Greenville back they were the pits.  They aren't anything spectacular right now, but they have improved drastically since I left (I hope this is just a coincidence...lol).  They have recently built a very nice 5,000 seat stadium and have recently started playing more SAC schools.  Yes, geographically they are great fit and their school's background fits in pretty well also (small, private christian school).  I know the idea of adding North Greenville has been talked about and, from what I have heard, one of the MAJOR reasons for building the stadium was to get on track with the rest of the SAC schools (Tusculum, Presby and Carson Newman have all recently built new or upgraded stadiums).   But, it looks like Brevard is also trying to get noticed as well by playing a few SAC schools this year.  They would also be a good fit for the SAC.
Right now, NGC is somewhat overshadowed by Furman & Wofford in the Greenville-Upstate area.  I believe joining the SAC would help their visibility considerably.  If they've built a 5000-seat stadium, that's pretty good for a school that size.  My youngest son goes to MHC and they also need an upgrade.  Playing SAC schools to get visibility is certainly a factor for both NGC and Brevard, but let's also not forget that those are some of the cheapest trips they can make for keeping travel costs reasonably low.

we're talking more about the sac more than they do on d2football.com (if such a thing even exists :)) - there is really some intense competition for players in nc, which is part of the reason i think you see the monarchs and others mine areas like ga and fla...there aren't as many choices for those kids (no school that isn't a d1aa or higher, although jax u is 1aa, non scholarship) and they play football year-round - those kids are more difficult to keep for 4 years, though - if a fla kid is a good student and doesn't play right away, it's tempting just to go back to sunny fla and the in-state tuition - you really have to recruit more selectively down there and make sure that the kids you bring in are going to stay...i think this is one of the reasons the monarchs have improved so much the last few years...they're doing a better job of keeping kids around for multiple seasons and playing with more upper classmen

Since today is the last day of Spring Football for Greensboro College, I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to watch them, or will get a chance to watch them today.

Would love to hear opinions on how The Pride looks and what might be expected next year based on Spring drills.  Wish I could watch them today!

Thanks!!

i heard from an inside source that cnu was looking at some transfers this week.  i no of one from richmond and one from carson newman but thatdoesnt mean they are any good.  about the guys that went to chowan my source said they lost one and a half players so i would think he was trying to say one was good one was ok and the others jus sucked.

drunken sailor

man i hope i dont suck lol.  i dont know if i would say any of them suck.  they all played so that would mean cnu has "sucky" players on the field playing for them.  i heard the kid from U of R is a real hard worker from another player that was all conference for them this past season.  he plays d line but will probably get switched to o line bc he is so big.  the kid from carson newman ive never heard of.  also a transfer from fordham who had to sit this past season out is a stud.  hes a running back from VA beach and had three consecutive thousand yard seasons without much of an offensive line.

ps who said we sucked???? cause my feelings sure are hurt by golly

eddie

no one said they sucked.  i should of said not as good as the stud.  it was the way the source said other players like the team wouldnt miss them.  my fault a little to harsh.

drunken sailor

we all cried.  its ok i accept your apology.

ps i hope im the stud

Yea Yea Yea I know you all missed me. Hope everyone's winter was a happy one.

Well head banging time is getting closer and closer and I can't wait. My Redskins are coming off a playoff season and only looking to get better and CNU. Well c thats where the ?s are. All I am hearing out of CNU camp is about players leaving and yada yada yada. To the guys that remained at CNU the old guys are still behind you.  TAKE BACK WHATS YOURS.

CNU85

just peeked at the Frodham stats. The only Va Beach lpayer on the roster is a DB. There is a RB from Richmond......also fordham didn't have a 1,000 rusher in 2004. I love it!

drunken sailor

he played db at fordham thats one reason why he left.
