Not at a astonishing "300lb pounds of staggering meat". Perhaps something unpretentious underneath like a Coastguard seaman in crotchless underwear. It's strictly a comfort issue Chief "Master and Commander of his vessel" Papi tells me.

But I do want to meet up with your guys at a game. The BC crowd is so rude exposing themselves at haltime like "Braveheart"....... ::)
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

Been kind of slow. It is that time of year. Just wanted to tell everyone to have a happy and safe Fourth of July. I personally cannot wait for football camp to start. I may be blinded by my feelings, but I believe that this conference is slowly beginning to emerge on the nationally scene. From top to bottom, from what I have seen of the conference in one year, all of the temas seem to be competitive. I know that everyone likes to make pre-season predictions, yet I don't see how anyone could possibly predict who will be champions this season.  I know that as a supporter of Maryville that I would like to see them continue to make improvements, which I believe comes with learning what it takes to be a champion.

Hey Narch,
Just out of curosity, Why do you have the helmets for Guilford and E&H with the rest of the conference? Are you hoping that we get them to leave the ODAC and join or do you just follow those schools?

highlander - it's the monarch schedule, represented by the team helmets

narch- thanks for the info. I can't even learn how to edit my own posts, and you are able to put all of the Monarchs opponents helmets on your posts. I remember back when I played at Maryville during the late 90's when we played Methodist at home. My family, including myself, could not believe the size of their players. Needless to say we did not fair very well againest them. I only played on one winning team at Maryville(1999), my senior year. However, I believe that they really are starting to turn the program around.

Hey, narch.   I noticed Chowan is on your schedule this year.  Guilford hasn't played the Braves in several years.  What's going on with their program these days?  I know they're no longer in the USASAC and may be DII now (?).

they are d2, although i'm not sure if they're full-fledged yet...they weren't very good last year, from the reports i got, but i suspect they'll be better with a year of d2 recruiting under the belt...who know's - they owed the monarchs a game, and since mc only played 4 home games last year and the ssu series is squared away, i think the coaches decided to take that game that chowan owed us this year - i've heard that there have been some discussions beyond 2006 for a high profile d3...i'd love to see mc add someone like bc, but we'll have to see

Thanks for the Chowan update.  Speaking of a high-profile DIII coming to town, how do you think Averett will fare versus Mt. Union in Danville this fall?

AdmiralPapi

Has Chowan improved their facilities yet?  Of all the places I played at while at both MC and CGA, Chowan's where by far the worst.

Narch, looks like the heat in Fayetteville is turning on just in time for 2-a-days.
